Prayer for wisdom

Postby Anna Mae » Thu Dec 15, 2005 6:32 am

I am in a theological discussion with a Mormon. Our lunch hours are such that we see eachother every other day. Please pray that God will give me wisdom and discernment as I converse with her.

Sure thing. Also remember to keep from debating and arguing, as that tends to negate from your testimony as a Christian. I know I sometimes have trouble with that when talking to people who aren't Christians.

That can be very difficult. Study well, and talk to your pastor about it. I'll be praying.

Lifting up the situation. Keep us posted on how it goes!
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Grey FM Downtown -- a mix of mainstream and Christian pop and rock music (Listen Now!)

Boink!'s pastor and his wife were Temple Mormons for years but saw through the lies and fallicies and are now born-again Christians. Definitly study the matter and know the Word of God. Here's some good stuff refuting Mormonism.

Sometimes it's harder to persuade those who believe that they're Christians as opposed to non-believers. Prayer is necessary so considered it done.

In your discussions, focus on what you believe, not on what she believes. It is good to know all about Mormonism, especially in matters where you disagree so that you know where your friend is coming from, but knowing your own faith is much more important.

Speak the truth instead of trying to disprove lies. By speaking the truth, the lies will be come evident and disprove themselves.

May God grant you wisdom as you continue to study His Word and debate and refine your beliefs.

I will pray for your situation. I have had experience with Mormons myself (my father is a former Mormon, and I had alot of exposure to Mormons when I was in Idaho over the summer), so I can understand how hard trying to witness to them can be.
