Clean slate. All browsers appear to work, just that opera and safari don't scroll correctly.

YOU MUST SWITCH TO THE LITE SKIN FOR THIS TO WORK. ONCE YOU DO, CLICK ON THE "NEW CHAT!" LINK AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN.

Sorry, didn't mean to shout there. I'm just happy it's working now.

Well, I am using Firefox 1.5 on Windows XP, and it works most of the time. I say that since one time I had to reload the page to get the usernames under "Online Users".

EDIT: I just noticed the Chat seems to have a 13 character limit on screennames. ChristianRonin logged in, and his name showed up as ChristianRoni with last 'n' cut off. Is this intentional?

EDIT 2: The Chat does not scroll on a enter/leave statement. That is, "11:53 - physicslover has left the chat." will not cause the scroll that normal conversation messages can do.

It's workin' fabulous for me, and it looks great! Grood jorb there, Mithy and thanks for the new chat!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Seems to work perfectly for me (Firefox 1.5 on XP SP2). But then again no one else was on, so I couldn't really test it very well at all.

All hail Mithrandir, Lord of the Chat.

I am getting feedback that indicates that IE users end up seeing a pink color when someone sets their font color to Dark Grey. This is strange considering that in people using Firefox see Dark Grey font as dark grey correctly.

EDIT: In fact, it looks like any shade of Grey shows up in IE as some shade of Red.

I bring a report of "mostly successful" with Opera 8.5 (WinXP).

I noticed only two issues:
1: Automatic scrolling did not occur
2: Clearing the view prevented further updates

Aside from those issues, it seems to work as designed.

EDIT:
it worked fine in firefox 1.5, but the chat was slow to find users who had quit. a quit command might be nice for this.
entering the chat messages were visible.

EDIT again:
also, the leaving messages don't scroll.

sweet otherwise!

Is it possible that many of the users for whom Firefox does not work correctly have simply not downloaded all the necessary plugins? I know that the majority of flash applications do not work with those computers on which I have only basic Firefox. Also, is Quicktime or any other program required?

IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2 etc.

XP with SP2

Works fine, although I don't like the time-stamp for every line.

I second this. I tried the chat with Opera 8.5 on Windows XP, and also did not have automatic scrolling.
