My brother

Postby Felix » Wed Dec 21, 2005 12:29 pm

Him: *makes out with his best friend's girlfriend behind his back*

Him: *juggles girls like the latest fad and ditches them after he gets what he wants from them*

Him: *buys unrated porn movies behind our parent's back*

Him: *drinks beer behind their backs too*

Let's just say that my brother is making a lot of mistakes in his life and I feel like I don't even know him anymore. He's starting to walk down a path that will be very hard to return from, and I'm not sure what to do. He's a legal adult now, and he trusts me not to tell our parents what he is up to, but I feel like at some point he's going to hurt himself because of it.
I mean it's his life andhis decisions, but I want to help him. It hurts me to see how far from God he is.
When he's around my parents or other respectable adults, he's the goody goody that's all polite and nice and 'christian' but behind the scenes... ugh.
Would you please pray for him and for me to have the wisdom to know what to do. Thanks..

i will so pray, dan.

and maybe its time for you to tell your parents whats going on. :/
even if your brother trusts you. believe me, its good to tell someone. i know this isnt really whats going on with you, but i had a friend who did lots of drugs. and she didnt want us to tell anyone and told us she trusted us. but... it was hurting her. so we decided to tell her parents one day.. and shes so much better now- becuase they delt with the situation.

so maybe it might be a good idea to tell. :/

yeah, thanks, I've thought about that. I'm not even sure exactly what's happening though or what I would say. I'll pray about it. I know he's making wrong choices, but I don't know how out of hand it is. It's justhard to know, especially since he's 18 now. ;_; Thank you, and I'll pray about it.

I'll pray for you too, man. It's hard when the people close to you are making bad choices and not being the Christians they should be. I have quite a list of people that I'm praying for right now that will return to the Lord. Let's both be faithful in that, shall we?

16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. 19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

Ah, thanks so much you guys. I'll be praying for your sibs and the people in your lives that are struggling too. And that's a great verse, Syreth.
After hanging out with him last night, I can see that he still has a small scrap of integrity left, but it seems to be fading fast. Thanks again. ^^
