I Get My Computer Components From The Future

Postby Steeltemplar » Wed Dec 21, 2005 9:38 am

So my PCI slot fan that I use to cool my video card went out on me. I bought a new one and it just arrived. Here is part of the instructions for installing it:

1. Turn off computer's power.
2. Remove the computer's cover.
3. Put the WS-8SLFS under the Pentium VI or A.G.P. card.

And, under "Features and Benefits":

5. Second cooler for Pentium VI & A.G.P. card.

Whoa! Pentium VI? My PCI slot fan must be from the future times!

The future's video cards must suck if they're still using AGP.

Clearly, they only need AGP because of the awesome power of the Pentium VI ;)

Wonder how much better the Athlon is. Athlon256 with quadruple core processing?

Athlon256 was never released in a quad-core version - the last Athlon to support quad-core was the Athlon128. Athlon256 debuted in 16 and 32-core versions.

...Of course, I don't know this for a fact, I would have to be a time traveler to know that.

In the future, PCI-Express is outdated, instead there will be AGP-Express

actually, there was a pic in the collectors edition that put AOE 5 as korean war period, and an image of AOE 6 looked halo-esque
