Weirdest presents you've ever given/gotten

Postby Maledicte » Fri Dec 16, 2005 1:33 pm

The weirdest ones I've ever given were a) a pocket thesaurus, to a kid at school who used complicated words in the wrong context. It was a joke, but glad to say it's helped him quite a bit, and b) a full body pillow, for someone who just ONCE mentioned that he likes pillows.

Weirdest ones I've ever received must be...those random sculptures my grandparents give me whenever they travel.

So what about you guys?

The weirdest present I've ever gotten? I got an inflatable book (bath toy made for 2 year olds) at my 8th birthday party. Oh, and I recently got a scented candle, but it was a "White Elephant" gift... I traded it out for metal picture frames.

For a gag gift I gave a little container of salt and a battery. Think about it. Anyhow... That's the weirdest one I've given. It ended up, though, that gift giving time wasn't supposed to be a gag gift... I was a bit embarassed

The weirdest present I've ever gotten is either an ice cube tray that makes penguin shaped ice cubes, or last year when a relative gave me barbie stationary...

I once gave a small painting of a palm tree to a classmate of mine...

He liked it though. ^_^;

Someone gave me a slimfast as a joke, because I accidentally made a crack about how slimfast would help make that person skinnier. I deserved it and took it with great humor.

Someone also gave me a packet of scented tissues. I think this is more sad that weird.

I gave someone a milk shake today! Of course, the person was in the car with me when we were in the drive thru at McDonalds but still. . .
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

One of my cousins made a Ninja Forehead protector...like from Naruto.

He's very perceptive of my interests.
You poor thing.
Here, have a cookie. :)

"Hey, you're that manager guy!"

"Yeah, and you're the kid who breaks hands. Anyway, here is your pay. Five thousand dollars."

"*gasp* Five thousand? Wow, I should break DEvon's hand more often."'

"Uh, yeah don't do that."

I got aftershave. I don't mind getting deodarant, but if you had a beard for years and someone you see somewhat frequently gives you aftershave, then you can't help but feel a little bit sad. Not really weird though...

I gave my mom a bottle full of gel capsuels. The things your supplements and some tylonal and stuff come in? well she likes to chew on hers, so I went to this little hippy-make-your-own-supplements store, and skipped the supplements and just got the gelcaps!
