I was surfing the internet a few months ago and somebody told me about a website that said that rock music cannot be used to spread the Word of God. I went to this website and the people that made it were talking bad about a lot of rock bands, such as dc talk, Superchick, Pillar, and Third Day and even a few worship artists/bands, such as Mercy Me, Jaci Velasquez, Jars of Clay, Delirious, and Michael W. Smith. This person says that they've compromised by "conforming to the world". A sister website I also visited also said that Christian music isn't made to be played in clubs or in secular venues. How messed up is that? Christian bands should be encouraged to play in those venues because those people that go to those clubs probably don't go to church and maybe that artist or band's music could be the first step in them finding God and accepting Jesus as his or her Lord and Saviour. If you ask me, music is like a knife: it's completely neutral and can be used for both good and evil depending on how the person uses it. An example would be a doctor using a scalpel to cut open a patient and to cut out any cancer or any other abnormalities inside that person to save his or her life or a person can take a knife and stab a person to death. Also, anime can be used for good and evil purposes (this website: good; hentai/yaoi: evil). In short, music, anime, or anything else is not about the sound or the type of animation, but what you put in it that matters, and besides, if you go against something that glorifies God, then you're going against God Himself. Thank you.
