Romans 6:6&7 - Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth(from that point on) we should not serve sin, for he that is dead is feed from sin.....Verse 14 - for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you aren't under the law, but under grace - 18 - being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Once saved, we have the power, through the Holy Spirit, to have power over our sins. Before, we couldn't. We were servants to sin, but now we can resist any sin through the strength He gives us. You can succeed over sin. You just have to make that right choice in each situation you are faced with, which sure isn't easy ( i'm sure you've heard all of this before, and you don't need me preaching to you) I will be praying for you.
