My advice: Don't worry about what size it is. I shrink all of mine in MS Paint.

A good avatar is easyist to get, if you know how to make your own. With these easy steps you can make an avatar out of any picture with only the standard paint program that comes on any computer.

Step one: find the picture youn want, smaller is better, but a large one might work, it will just look less good when done. Open the file in paint.

Step two: take and open the attached frame.

Step three: chose select all, and copy in the edit tab of the frame file. Then go to the other picture, click on the select button on the tool bar. There will be two options bellow the tool bar, click the bottom one. Then select paste.

Step four: You can now see how much of your picture will fit in a 90x90 frame. If your picture is too big to get the intended part of the image into the frame, then resise the picture to a more appropriate size (selsct strech/skew under image.)

Step five: once it is the right size, place the frame over the desired part of the photo, and crop the area outside of the black lines out.

That should work, but if you have a problem, just post the pic here, and I will try and do it for you. Hope that helps

Edit: the frame didnt appear to come through, I dont know what the deal is with that.

It's tricky for me to explain how to make them, so post the picture you want on this thread and what part of the picture you want to be in the avatar. I'll make it for you, complete with borders and everything.

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you

I only knew because I used to play around with Paint when I got bored. And on terms of actually finding pictures, I actually found my current one by googling "avatar." So you never know where you might come across a good pic.

Okay but a word of advice. PAINT IS VERY, VERY HARD TO RESIZE THINGS IN. Not only that but the quality will be horrid. If you have Microsoft Publisher it's a lot easier. And it's pretty much impossible to give instructions on how to make avvies, at least instructions that make sense. @____@
