So whats your favorite movie?
--To Write Love on Her Arms

"That time and absence proves - Rather helps than hurts to love."

"Feelings, emotions, they are good, but they cannot be Love's foundation. When of Love, these things last. When of romance, these things end."

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything."

Vertigo, Oh my gosh. *heart melts* That movie is so romantic...in a really twisted depressing way...

Save Eliot!

I used to be Lain Iwakura but then the voices told me it was too hard to pronounce, so I changed it to Murphy. *Beam*

"i dun wanna be, i dun wanna be me,
i dun wanna be, me anymore. (chorus)

they were throwing at his home,
two glass houses
twenty stones,
fourteen yellow,
six all blue,
could it be worse?
quite doubtful.

(chorus)

two steps forward,
three steps back,
without warning heart attack,
he fell asleep in the snow,
never woke up,
died alone.

(chorus)

please don't dress in black
when you're at his wake
don't go there to mourn
but to celebrate (x2)

I don't have one single favorite movie, because they are all so different. Each movie is great in it's own way.

This is more of a representative of my favorite movies.

BRAVEHEART

Because it has a perfect mix of drama, action, romance and comedy. Nothing is drawn out.

My top 3 would be The Royal Tennenbaums, Bridget Jone's Diary, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. Grave of the Fireflies
The Quiet American
Apocalypse Now
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Neil Postman
(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

I purposely didn't list any anime movies in my list because I can never really decide, it changes with my mood... Not that there are too many deserving, in the first place:

4. The Princess Mononoke
3. Roujin Z
2. Spirited Away
1. Grave of the Fireflies

That's about it. (Kiki and totoro are good too, but not near my favorites. Oh, and the 3 sailormoon movies are fun, as are the 3 tenchi movies, but not near my faves either)

I didn't even realize that The Italian Job was a remake... Hmm... I don't like movies like that, anyhow... The whole premise is iffy to me.

I'm going to make the additions of the Nightmare Before Christmas and About a Boy to my lists.

I just watched the Nightmare Before Christmas today, dang what a cool movie. It got me all in the Holiday spirit!

I have a lot of favorite movies and they're all so different. You can see by the ones I write down here (it's only part of my list):

The Bells of St. Marys (Ingrid Bergman was hilarious)
Man's Favorite Sport (the ultimate in sight gags and corny)
T 2 and Terminator (great effects)
Shipping News (so much more to this stoy)
Gladiator (well-rounded)
Shrek (still funny no matter how many times I watch it)
Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away (my fav Miyazaki films)
Polish Wedding (Lena Olin's character is off-the-wall crazy)

I have others but that's good for now.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

"Do you know... the muffin man?"

Yeah, Shrek rocks.

Comedy: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

Sci/Fi: The Matrix

Romance?: A Roman Holiday

Action: Drunken Master or any of Jackie Chan's Kung-Fu comedies

And I think that's it.
