Missing Jury summons

Postby Jaltus-bot » Wed Nov 09, 2005 8:57 pm

Hi,

I have one of those forms telling me that I have jury duty on the 16th. I don't know where it is or what I did with it. I am scared of that. I do not know what will happened exactly if I don't have it and it really will not go over well with my parents if they find out. I am scared of that. Please pray that I can find it. Thank you.

Parents being angry over lossing the paper or over jury duty? From my understanding you just go to the court house on the 16th with or without the form and they just call role. Then they try to limit the down the numbers of jury people and that's it.... If you have the letter perhaps they have a number you can call... or if you lost that, you can probably find the number by looking in the local phone book.

Anyways, I'll pray it all goes well.

I still won't know my juror number. Thanks for the prayers.

You wouldn't be the first person in that boat. People make mistakes all the time. I think that your trying to find out as opposed to ditch jury duty would be a plus in their book.

You could go down to the courthouse and talk to one of the clerks in Jury Selection. They can probably pull up your info for you if you ask nicely.

Just bring a pad of paper with you, and perhaps a pen, to write down your info. I'm sure that one of the guards will be able to point you in the right direction if you need.

As long as you show up, you'll be fine. The courthouse should be easy to find; I think there's only one in your area. When they ask for your juror badge, just say you lost it and they should be able to get you a new one. With the one day-one trial rules in [your state], you won't have to worry about it for long.
