With Iraq taking center stage on the world scene, lost amidst the fog of war are a small, once proud and once very influential people. For some reason almost completely ignored in the current discussions are 2.5 million Assyrian Christians. Scattered throughout Iraq, but primarily near the city of Nineveh, currently known as Mosul, these remnants of the great Assyrian Empire, now devote followers of Christ, are struggling to make Iraq a free country for all religious beliefs. These brave evangelists and believers suffered greatly under Saddam Hussein and even now strive to keep their country free from Islamic oppression. But they need help. As the world ignores them these fellow brothers and sisters in Christ fear for their lives as Islamic Militants continue to drive out or destroy the Assyrian Christian Churches. Please remember these daring Christians in your prayers as they try to reach an area that desperately needs the hope of Christ. Please also remember Rev. Ken Joseph Jr., one of the missionaries fighting to take Iraq for Christ.
