Oi! I miss a couple of days and look at ALL the posts in here. Shew!

Anyway, my fast day was WONDERFUL! I fasted for food (my first time ever), and I actually never got hungry. And I used it as a witness, too. A girl in one of my classes forgot her jump drive for a presentation in class, and so I said a quick prayer. She found it a minute or two later, and I told her about the fast and that I prayed for her. Felt nice, I have to say. I'm usually not too open and forward about witnessing like that (I usually wait for someone to open the door, and then I'll start). Praise God!

Oh, and for Prayer Buddy purposes, I'm in Virginia/Tennessee (depending on free time from school). :thumb:

Hello Faith Fighter said to post here about becoming a prayer Guardian, so can I be one please, I am always looking to get more involved with the things of the lord.?

^^ Sure thing matie! Welcome aboard

O, things you should know about:
There is basically just one rule of PG, and that is that we dont make short "I'll pray" posts (to prevent spamming). If you can't think of anything to offer in way of advice or encouragement, then typing out a small prayer is a good option.

Also, we have a bimonthly fast (on the 1st and 15th of every month), during which day we fast something (not necessarily food) and really focus on prayer.

>_< I think I will put the above into a word document... its time consuming having to type it out from scratch each time someone joins, which, Praise the Lord, is happening a lot recently.

I read that rule at the beginning. I always try to put more than just 'I will pray' on any post. When I person says that, it makes you feel as if they don't have time for a proper reply, much less time to actually pray about it. By the way, I want to thank falcon for the wonderful prayer he put on my prayer request page.^_^

Sorry, had to reflect my region there...

So, sorry if I missed this earlier on, but what exactly are we prayer partners supposed to be doing now?

Hey guys, just saying that after tommorrow I may be gone for two weeks. I am going out to Nevada to visit my best friend, and since she just moved she may not have internet connection yet. Just a heads up, and I would appreciate any prayers for safety.

Hey guys! Sorry to just jump in here in the middle of things, but I just wanted to say 'hi' to all of you again. We're just over the midpoint of the semester here at Bible College. It's been such a blessing to learn about our God and to grow closer to Him. Lately it's been laid on my heart just to live for His glory, because He is so worthy! I've been part of the Jouvenile hall ministry here, and that's such a great blessing to be able to talk with kids about God who know how badly they need Him. Other than that, I've just been doing homework and such. I guess I just wanted to let you guys know how I've been doing. Please! Pray for me as the next big decision in life is coming up. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I just need to be focused on what He wants instead. I really need prayers for discernment and wisdom in what to do in the next few years and I would appreciate it if you guys would go before Him on my behalf. I've been praying for you guys and fasting along with you guys. Thanks for reading and praying and I hope to jump back into the prayer room when time permits. May God bless you with all spiritual understanding as you all grow closer to Him.

Important Announcement about Prayer List

Okay, SP1 and I were talking and a great idea came up. As you may or may not know, I have temporarily stopped updating the Prayer List because of how busy I tend to be lately. However, if seven of you were willing to help out and were willing to set aside a few minutes each day, then I think we could get the Prayer List back up and running again.

This is how it would work: We would have seven Prayer Guardians helping out. Each one would pick one day a week. For example, the Sunday Prayer Guardian would find and type up all new requests made since the last update, which would, in most cases, be the previous day: Saturday. That person would PM me the requests, typed up "Prayer List-style," and I would then post them to the thread. I would, of course, give credit where credit is due.

If you all think this is a good idea, then let me know. If you want to go ahead and start volunteering, then PM me. Keep in mind that I will choose the seven based on post count and then how quickly each person PMs me. In other words, I will tend to favor those with higher post counts since they have "proven" their status as members who frequently visit the forums. No offense to newer members, but to have a regulary updated Prayer List, then this is the "safest" way to go about it. I'm sure newer members will have opportunities to help out in the future.

And even if your post count isn't very high yet, go ahead and volunteer anyway, if you wish! Seven volunteers is actually a lot of people for this group, so you may get a chance to help out.

If everyone thinks this is a good idea and if I get seven volunteers, then I'll go over more details (such as when one of the seven goes on vacation, etc.) in a group PM to you all.

Thanks! :thumb:

One comment on the Prayer List. You not only have to add the new requests, you should review the thread for the existing request to see if it is still needed. That is, if someone is "all better" we can take it off. This should probably only be taken off once each cycle (weekly or after the fast day) so avoid having something show up one day and fade the next.
