Theres this girl...

Postby Spector » Wed Nov 02, 2005 8:32 pm

Well, I know its a lil selfish, but it kinda bothers me....

All my life, I have only had a handful of friends, all of them dudes...and I never had a special friend..whos a girl...
I grew up very lonley...only until recently I have been getting more friends.

Before, no girl every really cared for me, that is, as a special friend...NO girl....but now..theres this girl that has been talking to me almost everynight, has taken me to church, and everything...but..theres a lil problem...

Iam (almost) 18..and she is 14...while later in life, that age differnce wouldnt matter...but we are not "later in life"....and while I would wait forever for her (she's quite the special girl n.n)...I will be moving out of state in at least 2 years....

I just feel REAL sad, cause, after all this time of being lonely, I finaly meet someone that likes me (and I know she does)...only to leave here...
I know we will still be friends, no matter what...I was just hoping..that eventually, we would be more than that...and thats kinda hard to do out of state.. :waah!: ....no one EVER treated me like she does... :(

I know that there will still be somone for me, if its not her....I just feel REAL sad about it... :?:

This reminds me of a similar situation that occurred in a church I used to be in. There was a guy (~20 or so) who liked a girl who was around 15 (and she liked him). Well, the time came when the girl had to move to a completely different state, and the guy was devestated. However, only recently he managed to move there as well (various circumstances that I wont go into here) and the latest I have heard is that they are once again persuing a relationship.

My point, there are no barriers God can't bring down. I dont know if you guys are meant to be together, but if you are God will bring it about. He can give you both the patience to wait until she is older, and He can bring you together even if you live in different states. It may hurt parting initially, but perhaps it is going to be used to help mature, both mentally and spiritually, you both.

My best advice is pray about it God will always point you in the right direction and if you can have her pray about it to. If all works out for the two of you rock on but just a litle word of advice no one ever really aprishates somthing as much as they should till they loose it including love. I can kinda relate I didn't even have many friends till I was about 17 as well. You can pm or email me if you ever want to talk I don't bite.

I used to be very shy, I never had more than a handful of friends either (5 friends in 2 countries). Nor do I have many friends nowadays either (however, after finally getting all outgoing this year , I seem to have become more popular...awesome feeling if before you talked with almost no one...)

But I'll be praying for you. :)

( BTW: why do so many girls go for older guys? I like a...younger guy. O_O; )

And I suggest you download some chat program, like ICQ, and talk with her via internet. Then you still have good contact with her. :)

My advice is to pray and pray and pray and PRAY! You are just starting out to college, and it is hard to maintain relantionships then. You will be meeting more girls that you knew existed and many of them will be like no one you have ever known before. If God wants you two to be together, then you will. Trust Him. If not, then he has someone out there better for you.

My older brother just got dumped by his girlfriend of three years, they started the relationship before college and he was faithful to her for the last year and a half. But as soon as she got into college and saw how many fish there were, she dumped him. We all thought they were going to be together, and we all thought she was the sweetest girl ever.

With matters of love and relationships, you need to fully trust God. He will handle where it goes. I know that God will have someone better for my brother in the future, and if your relationship doesn't work out I know he has someone greater for you. TRUST HIM. And don't sound so down in the dumps, look at all the things that God has made around you. The stars, for instance. :)

I can relate to the extent that I've only had a few friends that actually cared for me. And never really been close to any girls or had a girl friend... Still like that now... I can understand your feelings of loneliness.

On the other topic... the age difference. I'm sure y'all get along quite well and all, but there is a huge maturity (mentally) difference between a 18yr and a 14yr. Younger teens tend to be very impressionable...I think it would be a good idea to let her grow up and mature a bit more before you even talk about or consider a potential relationship- ya know?

I guess patience is key, to see if it will work out or not. Only God knows.

I'll be praying about your situation.
