In your dreams....

Talk about anything in here.

Postby Madeline » Tue Aug 16, 2005 4:08 pm

My dreams are usually not reoccuring. They happen in different places all around the world. I have a vivid imagination and read frequently so I am not surprised. :)

I don't remember having any lucid dreams. I almost always believe that they are real. Often I cannot wake up when I am dreaming. Even if my mom tries to pull me out of bed I remain asleep.

While I am having nightmares I sleepwalk. I talk to my parents or whoever is near me but I don't recognize them at all. I only see the world and the people that are in my dream. Sometimes it really freaks out my parents because they think I am awake. I talk to them but when they try to speak to me they say I just stand there with my eyes wide open, unmoving.

One time in my dream I was impaled on a metal fence post. I hung there for hours and would not die. People on the street walked by me and did not even notice that I was there. Then there were times when I was alone...

I could smell and taste the blood in my mouth. It was an awful, terrifying smell that made me want to vomit. I couldn't breathe or speak, but the world went on as if I didn't exist. I stared down at the sidewalk and then to the gray horizon, and hoped someone would bother to take my body down...or that I would die and my pain would be over...but relief never came. The people around me were too absorbed in their own lives to notice.

When I finally woke late in the day, I remembered never to overlook those who are in pain. It is the least I can do to sacrifice my time or petty convenience to help someone in need rather than selfishly nursing my tiny scratches when someone right in front of me is impaled on a stake.

I have lucid dreams a lot....and reoccuring ones... my youthminister took a class on understanding what dreams meant and on our way on a mission trip he was telling everybody what their dreams meant...it was cool...

I have one dream a lot..its either in my house when its empty on in a deep dark forest...its still until I hear something and I start running...soon everything starts to fall away from beneath me and I start to fall something catches me but just when I'm about to see what or who it was I wake up....it happens several times a month
"I cried out with no reply and I can't feel you by my side so I hold tight to what I know...your here...and I'm never alone"

"In the moon want to sleep want to sleep with the silence you heal me again, through the long and trying day you save me...in the moon I’m just veiled in the silver shining"

"Forever Love, Forever Dream, I can't walk any further, Oh tell me why, Oh tell me true, Teach me the meaning of life"

"Never change... that's what a fool would say in his dreams at the moment when you're facing the end of everything"

Dreams in the same location are rare for me but they do occur. What's interesting is that some of the locations are combinations of places I have been. Such as, a combination of my house and another building; ect.

As interesting as dreaming is, i'm terrified of them. They're always terrifyingly realistic, I wake up constantly throughout the night in sweat or in a jolt. Its just... things I dont even like to THINK about that come into my head at night. eesh :,(

I have recurring dreams of the same place. In the dreams, it's supossed to be my old home, but it isn't my old home in real life. It's this curving street, lined with trees, and at the end there is a general store. And there's a house that is mine, or used to be. In the dreams my family shared it with 5 other families but I can't remember them, and that usually makes me cry. And everytime I come home to that street, I feel safe.

I I ever saw that street in real life, I would freak. :P

I have several places that I re-visit....one is an amusement park, I can't remember the others.
I also run into "people" in my dreams...I talk to them and their faces look so distinctive and familiar and I even call them by name, but when I wake up I don't know who the person is at all. Or what I said or what they said to me exactly. It's kinda weird but kinda cool.

that happens to me alot. where in my dream, i know the person, they've been my friend and everything, and i can reconize them in my dream. but when i wake up im like...ok i know it was julie/jenna/etc casue thats waht i called them. but they dont look anything like them!!

Yes, yes I have those. One's an amusement park. The other looks kind of like the field I used to pass by on the way to church. And probably others, but I can't think of them as dreams are notoriously slippery.

Also, I have reoccuring people in my dreams...a few times it's people I know, but sometimes I've seen them before and talked to them only in my dreams, and I don't remember their names....:eh:

Yeah, I have that a lot. Sometimes, it's like deja vu. As though I've had the actual dream before. In real life this has happened too. I'll feel like I dreamed something before. It's cool, but kinda weird.

Also, I daydream about this one place. I dunno, it just pops into my head all the time. *shrugs* The subconscious is complicated, that's for sure.

Awesome.

I've had this odd unfinished building, all wires and metal beams until it was cage-like, in the dimmest, dirtiest part of some deserted city. Not a happy place.

I, like SirThinks2Much, also get recurring people in my dreams. Like Willy Wonka. 0.o

I have some dreams where I wake up and feel like I've dreamt it before. Sometimes I'm even aware WHILE I'm dreaming that I've had the dream before. However they're not particularly specific enough to write about, sadly, but yeah I know what you're talking about.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

This has happened to me alot. It is also with people. I see people only in my dreams over and over again. I don't know why... anyone a psychology expert here?

I have experienced recurring places, deja vu from dreams, and nearly everything that has been discussed here except for lucid dreams. I have never had a lucid dream...all my dreams are SO vivid, SO real, that most of the time, when I wake up I have to convine myself that I was only dreaming.
The one recurring place that I can think of at the moment was in a dream I had two on two consecutive nights. Although where the dream began was different, I still ended up going through this field of debris from a huge church where the only thing left intact was the crucifix and the alter.
As with many dreams I have had, I can still see the image in my mind and feel the overwhelming sense of sadness, like what was shouldn't be that accompanied the dream.
When I was much younger, I had a dream where there was this terrible fire and that it was coming closer and we had to get away. I was in the bathroom rummaging throguh stuff, preparing to leave and I remember looking in the mirror and that I didn't look like myself. Then, everyone got into the car and I drove us...the fire just behind us.
I also remember a very soothing dream I had a long time ago where it was the middle of the night and I was sitting in a rocking chair, singing a lullaby to a baby. I was sitting near a window with long sheer curtains and they were blowing gently in the breeze. The only other thing in the room was a crib and the light was dim. The strangest thing about that dream is that although I was rockingth baby...I was seeing this as if I was watching from above. I will never forget the peacfulness of the dream.
