My Insek (Insect) Art

Postby Warrior 4 Jesus » Tue Oct 25, 2005 4:44 am

Sorry its been awhile since I last posted any art boys and girls. I suffer from severe anxiety and moderate depression and haven't felt motivated to draw or write anything for about 6 months or more now.

I'm starting again. Here is the second picture I've drawn in 6 or more months. Its a genetically engineered creature called an Insek. Its for my story. My novel will contain the theme of not to play God, so messing with genes is a big no no. And besides I thought the creature looked kind of cool.

Enjoy!

Here is my first version of it: I was inspired by an ant and then a few days later I saw a six-armed statue with swords in the Tomb Raider movie. I combined the two concepts and this is what happened.

Today's updated version:

Wow. It reminds me of a really really bothersome Digimon. Have you thought about working both versions into the story? (I write fiction as well, and have all sorts of ideas bouncing around in my head.) Will the modified creatures have any sort of intelligence or morality or simply be evil?

No it wasn't influenced by Digimon. I don't think I'll have the second version in my novel.
Yes, the creature will have some intelligence/morality but be mostly evil. Although there will some other genetically engineered creatures that will fight out against evil. The insek is pretty much just for a sword fight scene.

Hope that helps. Thanks.

It's lovely.

Now you should color it.

I will colour it but first I'm going to create more creatures for my novel. And improve in my drawing skill first.

Good idea. But I see a tremendous amount of improvement just between those two drawings.
