I rented and watched "Birth" today. It's one of these animes that aren't really get much attention from people. It was originally made in 1984 and got re-released by ADV. I wanted to rent something I knew nothing about, so I did.

The story itself was a huge chase scene and the end was a bit of a surprise.... In all honesty, it wasn't that great and it lacked a lot of depth in the story, but there was something about it that kepted me from turning it off.

The feel was totally different and I really liked the old school art feel :)
Had an interesting feel.

Panda Z! This one's fallen under the RADAR for most, I think, but definitely worth the look. It's educational, too. I learned not to eat batteries.

On DVD: Tenjou Tenge fansubs (a bit fanservicey, but in a goofy way that doesn't take itself seriously)
On TV: Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo (hands down the most insane, ridiculous, and flat-out weirdest thing I've ever seen on television).

The end of Honey and Clover and Paradise Kiss episode 1.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I have finished 4 series in one week. Must be some sort of record. XD But then I have been seeing them for a little while.
-A Little Snow Fairy Sugar-A mostly cute and lighthearted series. It started out alright but then felt very mediocre until the last few eps. Then it got better. I really liked the ending, and the special was also great. Glad I saw it, it was pretty good. Not stand out, but worth a watch.
-Fruits Basket: Well worth its hype and popularity. It has earned its spot on my top 10 series of all time. Hilarious, heart warming, uplifting, sad, dramatic, romantic, you name it, this series is excellence. Fantastic characters in a wonderful slice of life story.
-Saikano: Dang, this series is SO depressing. A beautiful and touching but very sad tale of romance in incredible hard times. This series was depressing start to finish, but it was still excellent. Though good luck watching it without it depressing you a while after. The only anime so far that I've seen that's in its league for depressing anime is Grave of the Fireflies, for similar yet different reasons.
-Peacemaker: This was all in all a decent series. Not one to write home about, but worth seeing. I really got sick of the constant electric guitar BGMs (frankly half the BGMs stunk, alot of it even sounded synthesized, which I hate. Some of it was good though, thankfully), and I really do not care for the opening or ending. None of it suits the era or tone of the show. The eps on the last disc also used way too much 3D. I also felt like it really didn't go anywhere for a long time. The last few eps however got more interesting. The show was never outstanding, but it's good, and like A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, it grew on me over time.

Soon I will see the Giant Robo Ginrei Special, and then I will start Wolf's Rain, which I am very excited about seeing.
