I've done research on this game for quite a while, and just recently a copy fell into my possession.
First off, if you own a DS and like anime such as Bobobo, DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Eyeshield 21, etc. Namely anything from Shonen Jump, you need to own this game. 27 different manga's, 657 unlockables, loads of playable characters (In the 29+ range I think) and 150+ characters that make appearances.
This game is an anime fan's dream come true, matches only imagined in our minds and done in fanfics can now be played out in a ballet of destruction that rivals the fun and enjoyment of Super Smash Bros. Ever want to see Kenshin go up against Roronoa Zoro? It can be done.
This game in it's core is Super Smash Bros. with health bars, but there is something more to it, a Koma/Card/Deck system, whatever you'd like to call it, that lets you completely customize the way you fight. With this Koma system you can switch characters on the fly, heal some HP, summon a friend to throw out a quick attack then vanish and oh so much more. The koma system utilizes the touch screen, and makes perfect use of it.
All of the incredibly goodness aside though, there is a major downer about the game...It's never going to see an American release. Sadly this game will pretty much be a Japan exclusive.
The reason for this? Nintendo would have to buy out loads of liscences from multiple companies to get this game made. Bandai owns One Piece, Atari owns DBZ, you see where I'm going? Not only that, but many manga's in the japanese Jump haven't even been released in Shonen Jump (Not to mention a lot of the japanese Jump sereis' are further along as well).
Despite the fact that it will never see an American release and is only available through importing or finding a shop that carriest import games, this is still a must have.
Oh, and if you're fearful of importing because most of the game is in Japanese, no worries, there are translation FAQ's to help you along.
Now that I've finished my rambling about how much I love this game, how many of you have heard of this? Are any of you planning on getting it? And from what you've heard about the game, what are your impressions of it?
