Work stuff-my future as an employee

Postby Jaltus-bot » Mon Oct 10, 2005 12:16 am

I got written up three times for things I asked about. This kind of write up has more impact on whether or not I stay employed. I know that for the regular cashiering write-ups, you can only get five and they take you off the register for a while.

I'm going to talk with the store manager on Tuesday, but prayer would be good. I got written up for things I was expected to know but I asked about. The first I was not trained on and didn't want to just randomly guess about. I should have remembered to say on the paperwork that I was never trained on and had no actual experience for but forgot that part in the comment section. It was a gift receipt and is considered a standard operation that I should know since I've worked there for three months. Gift receipts are just a basic operation. I just wasn't sure of myself and didn't want to mess anything up and have to have it redone. I've only done two other transactions with it and those the manager ended up doing it after the transaction was completed. The second had only come up once before and I didn't see the validation stamps for hunting licenses and I didn't remember how that worked, so I asked. The validation sticker for the hunting license one has come up a grand total of once in three months. The other, I asked what to do to fill out a return form if I didn't have the receipt information. I was written up because I was expected to know because I've worked there for three months.

That all just happened today and yesterday. I don't know exactly what I am going to do.

Im deffinitely praying for you. Im having a similar problem myself. I work in a grocery store as a cashier. When i was hired they trained me for two days and then expected me to know everything. Then they get mad if they find i don't know what to do.

The other day I was working Express and this woman came through with a lot of produce and I thought that it was over thirty items so I told her that she had to go to another isle. Well as it turned out she only had about nine big ones which I then offerd to take her anyway; but instead she just blew up and told the manager that i was being mean and they wrote me up without even listening to my story. I would rather not say how I felt about this situation because I would be banned for trolling; but it was slightly negative.

Work can be a pain; but just remember that eveything works for the good of those who wait. Ill pray for you.

Sometimes employers can be unfair; I had a situation like that in my own life. Lifting you up.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

I will pray for you.

One time I forgot to hand in some important forms that were going to the paper. And my pm never returned my e-mail! So, I'll never know if they got in on time. :shady: Until it's in the paper I guess. hehe. So, I know kind of how you feel. I'm sorry.

it's really hard when employers are hard to get along with.
but look in the bright side. in our country, 70% of our people don't have jobs, not even a job as a janitor

The full time cashier was told that I had to be written up when we were there on Sunday. I guess that is like what happened on Saturday, though I don’t think she was there. The store manager is going to talk to his boss about the write-ups since they were sent in already and next Sunday I will go in for training under the full time cashier. I had to promise the store manager that I will be faster at cashiering though-getting the customers’ purchases rung up and paid for and stuff. That is something that will be really important, especially in the next couple of months. Please pray that I succeed well in being a faster, better cashier who processes customers quickly enough.
