Shogo

Every now and again I'll reminisce about old games I've played. Only earlier today my thoughts returned to the classic FPS/Comedy Shogo MAD. I think I've mentioned it before a long time ago.

It occurred to me today that the Shogo plot would make for a very entertaining anime/manga series. The game featured great design, a clever plot, classic characters, and some great action - not to mention pointed humour.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Oh and if you haven't played it, it's dated now, but go and get it anyway - a great story and more fun that I've had playing games in a while.

Shogo is a great game, and there are even Amiga and Linux ports of it (officially licensed to boot). It's a pity the Mac version only plays in "real" OS 9, not Classic.

Moved to Gamers Galore, however.

Humor points:

1. The name of the character, if you look at the name plate on the door to the quarters, is: I. Dyson. (Macross Plus reference).
2. The main advertisments on the walls refer to IBS in a somewhat comical manor.
3. A cowering civilian yells, "You better leave or I'll call security" to which the main character responds, "You better shut up or I'll shoot you."

Maybe you had to be there, but it had it's funny moments.
