I'm not sure about Baldur's Gate (I can't type Baldur without seeing pictures of Heimdall/Baldur fighting Loki in my head now. >_>) , but apparently SCII got rated very low because every want to retrieve the shards of a "demonic sword." ...whoo freakin' hoo; >_> Plot in SC II is non-existant to begin with...

What the heck I posted here on Page 1....maybe I Xed out before I clicked submit reply anyways.

I think this website overates Devil May Cry and underates Doom. I mean I watch my cousin play Doom 1 and 3 on his comp all the time with Slasher Metal music in the bacround and I just think of it as a pointless videogame with horrible graphics ( the 1st one anyways.) I see this things everywhere that says Doom 3 just came out and I`ve seen it on my cuz`s computer for like the past 3 years. Did they like Remake Doom 3 or was I just confusing it with the 1st. And if so, did they even make a Doom 2? I never saw it.

Madeline, I remember Reader Rabbit. I thought I was like so cool playing it in Kindergarten, good times.

I think you fail to realize something about Doom. Doom came out in 1993 ok and back then those graphics were great. Just because a 12 year old game has the graphics...of a 12 year old game doesn't mean it sucks just because nobody makes commercial game with 12 year old graphics anymore.

You wouldn't say Pacman or Frogger sucks would you?

Doom was the game that made the first person shooter a genre. Sure id made Wolfenstein a few years earlier but that didn't have the same effect. Id also was the first developer really embrace the mod community and get it started. And of course one of the first games to have multiplayer over a modem. And Doom invented the deathmatch and was very well balanced. So thank id and Doom for making FPS's a genre, starting the mod community, deathmatch, balanced multiplayer, etc.

And I know what you're trying to say there in the 3rd sentence but you really should work on the sentence structure and misspelled words. Doom 3 has been out for the PC since August but it was just released barely a month or so ago on Xbox.

What little story Doom 1 had was remade in Doom 3 to well actually have *some* kind of story. Albeit not a very good one but that's not what Doom 3 is about. Doom 3 is about turning out the lights, turning up the sound, and putting yourself through a 20 something hour cardiac arrest. :lol:

Ah yes, Jimbo mensions something that is a bit difficult for all but hard-core gamers to do.

I personally preffer PSone games over Gamecube and Ps2 games combined. So what about better graphics and newer gameplay elements. When you play a game from the old days, your mind set must also be set to the past, to truely enjoy the game.

Man ccgr is a bunch of spoot heads the got all defenceive about Doom3 saying it was evil but it is all for shock value not a way to worship God cause a demon jumping out of a nicely light area with bunnies on the wall would b very scary and also the reviewed bmx xxx and gave it a better review that doom and ninja gaiden

Seriously, some of you sound more immature than the reviews. If you don't like them don't read them, but what are you accomplishing by bashing them?...

I don`t agree with most of their comments, but no one is perfect. You guys are making it sound like the same person reviews every one.
One guy can find BMX XXX horrible and find Doom better while another guy can say Doom is horrible and BMX XXX is even worse. Unless it was the same person.

No, the past posts make it seem like the same person wrote all the reviews.
They said:
"The Reviews said Doom is worse than BMX XXX (which is bad)."
What i meant was, one person thought bMX XXX was horrible but a completely different person daid Doom III was horrible as well but made it sound worse.
Two different people.
Two different opinions.

Well, they do have different reviewers. Some of them sane, some of them not. I'm hoping the CAA's game review section will kick the crap out of theirs, once it's out.

Sigh... I've seen your posts, Truthgone. You just sit around on semi-controversial topics and be contrary for contrary's sake. Mr. Dincht is expressing that he dislikes the site's reviews, due to their inconsistent quality, and what some might consider to be unfair bashing of some games.

I am not doing this to be controversial. This site was made for parents and christian gamers who wanted to know the content of the game. I do not see how that is bad. I also do not see why you should get mad especially if you went to their site. They did not make you.

Excuse me, but how did you pick up anger in my posts? I'm perfectly calm. Also, I agree that the intention behind the site is noble. Their system is kind of odd though, and seems to condemn some games as unplayable by Christians when the negative content in them is almost a nonissue.

Yes, but the problem is, that it presents a false statement about the game.

If someone went around calling you a liar and a pervert, no one has to listen to that person, and people would be free to choose whether to believe it or not. But I bet you'd still be pretty angry that this guy was going around saying stuff about you that wasn't true.

And that's our problem with this site.

I'm through with this thread, because you've apparently ignored my last post. But that's a very dangerous mentality for a Christian to have.
