Need major prayer...

Postby Spector » Sat Sep 24, 2005 9:39 pm

There is this girl that I have admired from afar...but never really got to be around. She's really cute...and known as a Godly, Christ-like girl.

Well, today I was talking to my friends, who also know her, and some how she got brought up in the comversation......I have'nt seen her in a year..

It has just come to my attention that she has been smoking pot....and has gone to bed with 2 guys...in one night.......

I have had a crush on this girl for a while..and before I can even talk to her....I learn she has thrown her life away......
Since I have a face to match her with, instead of just some person....I get a sickening "image" in my head that wont go away...if you know what I mean :sniffle:.

I have also learned, and even seen, that 3 more of my friends are not exactly living a Christ-like life....but there the last ones I'd guess.

This is but one of the many problems that have been building up in my life....I'm kinda a goth....inside.....have lost most of my emotion...have bearly any friends..........and am curently listening to a hardcore techno song called "I hate you ".......you..being me....I hate myself and my life...

I kinda got off track..but Ive been meaning to say that too, for a while...
The girl (and some other friends) really need prayer, as well as I. hope that you will pray for them and me....but also give me some MAJOR encouragment/advice...

Thnx,
Josh. :bang:

It's really sad seeing people abuse their lives like that, but the situation isn't hopeless. God can bring her back and sanctify her, making her pure again. I'll be praying for her.

As for your problem... well, I guess the only thing I can think of is to repent for allowing such influences into your life (such as the song), and get rid of them. It will probably be hard, because it has become a habit, but you can get out of it through Jesus' grace and strength. I'll be praying

When someone has a crush on another and learns she has done all these terrible things in her private life can be frustrating. It can really makes us feel bad inside... It hurts more because we painted this picture perfect image of this person and it's hard to see someone we cared for do horrible things. Things we disagree with and such. Kind of like denial. But ya, I understand...

I'll be sure to pray for this person and your other friends.

I'll also keep you in my prayers. I think most of us have felt down on ourselves or feel spiritually drained at one point or another. It's nothing God can't handle. Christ can give you strength and encouragment. Also, we're always here for encouragement too.

Last time I was really down on myself I was listening to music that only made me more depressed. A friend suggested I change it up (something more uplifting) so I tried and it helped tremendously. Getting more of a positive feeling through words can really help us feel better. It may be worth a try.

You're in my prayers bud. Take care.

Hey, prayers. That stuff is hard. ._.

I guess my biggest problem is that I keep imagining me as "the hero", hopfully trting to save her from it all...so she can be my girlfriend.......like "that" is my motive...and thats quite selfish of me.
Even if I wanted to help her for no good reason...I cant just call her up.
It was only a crush, not even offical friends..so me just calling her up would seem VERY strange......im so frustrated that I cant even do anything..except get images in my mind all day....

Is this girl someone you can reach out to? Certainly, associating yourself with someone connected to a bad scene can be risky. I'm not asking you to take risks here with your safety. She may need a rock to cling to. Raise her head above water long enough to see Christ's light. Perhaps you could just ask her if she's OK. I wouldn't lay religion on her too thick at first. Sometimes people reject God because of some very traumatic events that, to them, mean that God deserted them. You may have to just "be there" for her for quite some time before she will tell you this, however.

Speaking of however: Before you embark on this, it might be right to get yourself in order. "Lost emotions?" Not sure what this means. Restoration of the balance you need is, I believe, best resolved through prayer and service. Oh, and repeatedly playing music that puts people down might not be the best right now. Helping someone out stands you better in the path of Christ. This makes you feel better and then you can serve more. By service, I am not necessarily meaning mission work or witnessing, anything works. Pray that God will give you the strength to stand firm in your faith, help you to meet genuine friends who understand and support you, and that from that center of strength, God guide you to do his will.

I will also pray for these things.

Ephesians 5 is an excellent chapter for you, because it deals with all of your issues at once. In this epistle to the church in Ephesus Paul lays out an interesting design for Godly living, morality, wisdom, and relationships. He starts first by writing: “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved childrenâ€

You can't go back and change the past, but you can move forward to change the outcome.

Well, for like a whole month I heard nothing of her, and worried about her so, but never lost faith.

And now, a couple of days ago, when a "friend" (hehe, a girl) took me to church...geuss who was there, looking confident! :thumb:

I pray that she has goten on with her life, turned from her past, and that nothing long term will come from it.

Sounds good. :thumb:

I wonder if this means it was all a rumor, or if she's just getting back on track now. Either way... good. :)

That's great that she was in church! Apparently whether she's completely turned from it or whether she's still struggling with it, the Lord is wanting to do a work in her. Lifting up the situation.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

 Looking for a GOOD music mix? Check out these stations:

Grey FM Downtown -- a mix of mainstream and Christian pop and rock music (Listen Now!)

More real stuff...
