Installing an AGP videocard with intergrated graphics on the comp.

Postby Locke » Sun Sep 25, 2005 10:32 am

Alright I made the decision to get rid of my Integrated graphics and bought a 9550 Radeon.

But I have integrated graphics so I know I have to disable it before anything is done. But how I do get to do this?
and will it affect my computer in anyway after I install the card?

>_< It was'nt this hard when I installed my PCI card a few years ago....

I think you might have to something along the lines of this

1. turn off the comp
2. put in the videocard and boot up the computer
3. Install it (drivers and all)
4. uhh i dunno from there x_x somehow change the graphic settings... I don't know sorry

You make it sound soooo easy. ;)

Edit: Hmm, I think I'll just install the card and hope it overides the integrated one...

From what I read, it's supposed to override the Integrated. Of course the author said "Supposed to" was the key term.

When I installed my old Voodoo 3 AGP card in my new computer a couple of years ago, the BIOS automatically picked up on it with no problem whatsoever; I didn't have to change any settings at all. You shouldn't have to disable the integrated chip; especially if there's no option to.
