Your CAA Role-model

Talk about anything in here.

People should have mentors, though, and role models serve that purpose in some ways. As Christians, we're all climbing the same mountain, so to speak, and we all help each other. The purpose is not to win, as is so much in life, but to help everyone else. So if you happen to be further up in one particular area than someone else, you pull them up. They probably have an area they can help you with as well. We all do better this way. I post this mainly because this thread has been uplifting for me.

Uc can you be my mentor

Everyone here had been I role model for me in some way shape or form but If it had too be one person I respect here it would be all the mods and the one person would be Shatterheart. I really don't know why but I like what he says and his views on things.

I haven't been around long enough to choose a role model yet, although I have been impressed by the faith, wisdom, and love of anime expressed by many of the members. My real goal is to be someone else's role model one day. :thumb:

I have to go with Saint on this one. I don't really have any role models, so to speak, here at CAA. I certainly have a lot of people I respect, and people whose talents I admire, but my only real role model (besides my parents--in a human sense) is Jesus. He is my number one role model in life. But there are a lot of great people here at CAA and I am always glad and grateful that God gave me a chance to be a part of this web community.

I wouldn't say I have role models, but I highly respect Ash for creating a place for Christian anime fans to be able to come together. Domo Arigato Gozaimusu!

Hm, I'm surprised to see this come back. Not a problem, though.

Exactly. I'm too much of a cynic to have any human role models, but there are plenty of people I look up to in assorted areas. This was a very good post.

Well if you hear a gunshot...it was just Ash plugging me. *snicker*

Role models for what? I really have to define it.

Example:

Role models for...
1) 'Forum'ing/moderating: Inky, like the way she handles things
2) Humility/submission: Volt (it's a strength and I'm impressed so far)
3) Real life: Jesus

It's kinda hard to evaluate a person just by reading their posts but I give everyone the benefit of doubt!.... ;)

Let's see... As many peeps have said before, you'd have to define 'role model,' and there are probably still a bunch of other loopholes I could use, but I'll just save my hand. (You know, kind of like, "Save your breath?" Ah, forget it. )

I'm really new here, probably haven't even been on this forum for more than a month, so I still barely know a bunch of you peeps. It's been a blast so far, though, so keep up the good work! :thumb:

Hmm I agree with a lot of what Volt said :)

Also I look up to uc as a good writer and (though I haven't seen his work) fellow programmer. And also, I talk to SanGoku on AIM a lot, and he's very cool to talk to.

Seriously though, I haven't met a single person here I really didn't like; or if I did they were banned pretty darn quick  I guess that's the beauty of it, and the product of having such good responsible people as mods :thumb:

Hey, thanks (as a mod and writer). I'd warn you, however, that I'm far from a professional programmer. It's just a hobby, for me.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I've never seen this thread until now. First, I need to say thanks to the ones who thought I was a mom figure like anonymous and Volt. Here's a hug. I also think Mineko and Icarus are so darn sweet. :) You guys come over for cookies anytime. ;)

And the one I admire most is hard to choose; how can you pick just one? I think you're all great.

My best friend and whom I love to talk to on CAA is Eirewolf. She's the best! She and Old Phil are very admirable people. :) I also enjoy Millyfan, Ink, Gypsy, cbwing, Shadsie, Iesu (my fav writer), chibi_chan (cause she's my sweet little girl), and Sangoku, and I'm forgetting a lot. And, although I could admire no one more than my Lord, Jesus Christ, I think as believers we should always have people we look up to. I've always met women and had mentors who have guided me through my Christian walk, in being a good mom to my kids and in how to be a worthy woman of God. I never know how much longer I'll be here, but I hope I never stop growing until I meet Him face to face. I'm really glad for my fellow believers whom I meet along the way. And, thanks Ashley for staying on course and having this wonderful forum.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
