IGN wrote:The Big N has developed a conventional controller shell that, according to executives, looks more like a Wave Bird. The "pointer" remote can be inserted into this shell so that more traditional games can be enjoyed as they always have. Obviously, it will be this shell that enables players to experience Super NES and N64 games on the platform. The even better news is that because the sensory functionality of the device remains operational even when it's in the shell, games like Madden could actually be expanded. Imagine, for instance, having access to all of the controls of a standard controller plus 3D movement options. Icon passing just got a whole lot easier.
...I had a lot of faith in the Revolution until now. >_>
The more I read the worse it looks... First off the revolution isnt going to have the best graphics out of the bunch and now this?????
Myoti wrote:My GOSH, how much more graphical power do you want?!
The GC already had very good capibilities as it is. The N said they were more interested in gameplay, not graphics, and if you're one of those who likes games just for how it looks, you were'nt a true gamer to begin with.
Myoti wrote:You, and everyone else who thinks this way never had faith to begin with if you weren't expecting the N to come out with something "whacked".

But, for ports and things like that, Nintendo is making a "classic style" controller for the Revolution as well.
The controller is supposed to open new doors while keeping the old one's open.

a 3d mouse is good. Think about it. It can be everything in game.

Waving a wand to jump? Swordfighting in Zelda? That's not even innovative...that's the PS2's Eyetoy turned into a controller.
As for FPS games, what do they plan to do? Try to convince companies to make Turok games again? Steal back Perfect Dark from the X-Box 360?
Seriously, Nintendo. You're making it waayyyy too easy for me to bash the Revolution with this lame controller design.

If this set-up is as intuitive as I have read, Nintendo didn’t name it Revolution for nothing.
but I much prefer the old fashioned method of using a standard controller
