DIET SODA ACTUALLY ISN'T HEALTHY. A lot of the false sweeteners they use have really bad effects on at least some people. I've read bad things about Nutra-Sweet, Splenda, etc. They are NOT healthy. Basically they're chemicals, some would say poisons.

Hey, it's your body, but they ain't healthy.

Um, yeah. :red: I do.

But I hate green peppers. Just the smell of them makes me feel sick sometimes. Ewww...

Let's see.....I simply refuse to eat the following:

Beef steak (any big slabs of meat....actually, I don't like red meat)
Pork with the exception of bacon
Pizza
Cottage cheese
Soda drinks
Frostings/whipped cream....anything that goes on top of sweet stuff
Food bars, especially those meal replacement types....bleh
Eggnog
Candies
Kidney beans

.....and my least favourite edible thing ever:

Yeah, I was going to mention that, but every time I do people think I'm crazy.

I remember watching a interview of this one guy who used to work there. Basicly the FDA refused to look further into the issue because he stated if the FDA admitted they released a product w/o looking heavily into like they did, it would make them look uncredable. Now they refuse to do more studies on it even after many research teams results.

My dad's chiropractist was once in a study on the effects of Diet Soda. Basically, it's about as healthy as downing embalming fluid. Also, when it is consumed, the brain sends out the same type of waves that it does when you are in pain.

Please, if you're going to say stuff like this, cite studies instead of throwing out anecdotes.

Diet soda is not particularly healthful, but mostly because it's just flavoured water with no nutritional value whatsoever. There has never been any documented and controlled studies showing any link with any deleterious health issue whatsoever, or in this litigious climate, there would be lawsuits faster than greased lightning.

That being said, it's a waste of space that could be better spent on something more healthful; carbonated beverages increase stomach volume because of the gas and encourage overeating by stomach distention; and the acid in most sodas, including diet sodas, and the caffeine aren't nice for your stomach lining. But that doesn't mean that junk science should be aired as if it were truth, and most of the anecdotal studies "proving" some link are just that: anecdotal, and contributing variables to such conditions either uncontrolled or unexplored, making it impossible to draw any firm conclusion.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a Dr Pepper. Sugared, thanks.

For all you guys and girls who don't like vegetables, what are your subsitutes? Vegetables are an important food group and are needed. There are some gross vegies, but many good ones also. Have you had bad experiences with them or just don't like the taste?

Like a former friend of mine once said: "What's your favorite food?" "Ketchup!" "What's your least favorite food?" "Tomatoes!"

I agree with tomatoes, though...I'd like to eat something that's confirmed as either a vegetable or a fruit, and not both. (but that discounts cucumbers. :P) And mayonaise. ("White, chunky stuff...") And diet soda.

In answer to W4J, I *do* like my veggies. I only listed the ones I hate. I like most vegetables, though...I do loves my beef and broccoli, my boiled cabbage, my salads...mmmm.

Actually, though I don't hate ketchup, I don't much care for it. I don't dislike it enough to ever say "No ketchup," but if they ask like on a hot dog "What do you want?" I never say ketchup.

Taro. It must be purged from this world.

I don't like Durian, but it amuses me for some reason. Must be the fact that it's a big spiky fruit that smells awful. Makes a good gift.

It also *tastes* filthy. I think it's a joke played on Westerners -- I suspect the locals don't like it either. Durian ice cream was okay, but the fruit itself tasted like rancid onion custard.

Of course, we can't forget the smell, naturally. No wonder the Singaporeans won't let people carry it on their subways -- they'd never get the stank out.

I'll just make a list:

Tomatoes- just don't like the flavour, if it's cooked I'll eat it, strange!
Cheese- same thing with the tomatoes, I don't the taste unless it's melted cheese then I love it!
Lettace- I know that it doesn't have much of a taste, maybe that's what I don't like about it.
Mustard- too mustardy
mayonaise- to mayonaisy
eggs- I'll eat them, but I won't cross the street to eat them.
Anything gross- like bugs or soap etc..

Mmm...I love beef. Any kind of meat I love, I'm a carnivor. I could never be a vegetarian especially because its not healthy. Maybe when you look at beef eat it and spite out your nightmare. You don't have to go near it if you don't want to but I think beef is really good.
Oh yeah, I hate peas, hate pea soup, hate corn unless its on the cob, hate cabbage, hate spinach, hate salsa, hate dark chocolate, Good N plenty, etc. Oh yeah, and I also cannot stand Raviolli. That stuff makes me sick, especially the green version. eeeewww.
