Tradgedy strikes my school.

Postby ChristianKitsune » Wed Sep 14, 2005 10:30 am

about 4 and half hours ago... I and another member on this Board (mythmaster) recieved word at our school that one of our class mates had died... in a terrible car accident on the way to school.

This young man was only 16 years old... and was an AWESOME football player and an all-around nice guy.... I didn't know him very well..and I wish I had...but...classes were screwed up today the ENTIRE school was up in tears...many teachers and students went home...

we were all called to our auditorium and our principal couldn't even keep his eyes dry...when he gave us the news...

The rest of the morning was spent with every grade seperated in seperate room. It was really painful to hear all the shuddering cries of all my classmates, I wanted to be there for all of them because I was one of the ones least affected by this..As said I didn't know him well at all..I hear he was an awesome guy though... and I feel horrible for my friends and classmates who did know him well.

one of my best friends was on the team with this young man...and he is devastated by the death.

I ask you guys to pray... For myth's and my school, our classmates, our teachers.... and EXSPECIALLY his family, The mother and his younger bro who is now a freshman were right behind his car in another car when this happened so they watched as this boy died. This is gonna take A LOT of time to get over... I have never dealt with this kind of thing in my life.. never before has the entire school been crippled to it's knees because of a tradgedy..and I hope this never happens again...

thanks everyone...

In Christ

i didnt know him that well either but he talked to me on occasion and he was a really nice guy. unfortunatly i dont think this will be the last death for a while, i've noticed that recently every summer or in the year that a student is dieing, in 2003 one of my friends died in a car accedent, this summer my brother best friend hung him self and now this. i could be way off or just thinking to much but that's how i'm seeing it. and you werent the only one not feeling terrible, i didnt know him to well but in any death, since i was 8 when my great grandma died, it takes a couple of hours for the shock of death to hit me and when it does it hits hard.

to make some of the matters worse for our school, a game is going on, on friday and with out the star player its going to be cancelled since the entire football team was in tears

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

That happened at my school a few years back. We just sat and did nothing for the whole English class that day. I will definitely be praying for his family, friends, and teachers.

I understand the pain of losing someone even if it's not close to you. A student that was a grade above me hung himself a year after he graduated HS and it affected the entire school and community. He was only in class of mine when we were in high school and I felt sad for the family.

However, this young man died innocently as far as we know and pray. However the neat thing is God's glory will be shown through this situation. God can use the most darkest hour to set forth his power and glory.

I will pray for yourself, mythmaster, your school - students and staff, your community, and more importantly his family.

I hope I am not digging myself to far but was he a believer?

CR and Myth, I know the pain, I know how terrible it feels:

I was friends with Donovan Thorimbert and his family when we were seniors in high school, I heard about a car crash that happened somewhere close to the district where my house is. My sister's fiance told me while he and I were driving home on the weekend that this happened. He then told me that a couple were in the crash and the man was a teacher who taught in the same high school I was in.

It didn't click into my head back then who this person was and no sooner have I gotten back to the school when I noticed that absolutely nobody, not the students, nor the staff said a word while they were going to their classes, with mortified, and tearful looks on their faces.

I went to my Math class to start off my day, and my teacher read the announcements to the class. The girl sitting next to me was in the middle of crying and stopped for a bit, only to cry again, same thing with the rest of my classmates, except the guys who were just staring blankly at their desks.

My teacher turned over the announcements, which had a long message on it. He told us that Mr. Thorimbert, his wife and daughter were in a car accident just this past weekend. Both Mr. Thorimbert and his wife died tragically in the accident, leaving their daughter in the hospital with major injuries.

When I heard this, I too became mortified. This was Donovan's family, and what makes it even more horrifying was that I just spoke with him the day before that fateful day.

The staff and students knew both Mr. Thorimbert and his wife very well. I'm pretty sure she was either worked for the day care or as an English teacher.

We never had the urge to do any work and neither did our teachers.

Donovan never came to school that day. It was a month before he came to our English class.

Thinking about this now does bring tears to my eyes, but I just have to remember that time goes on, wounds are healed and knowing full well, that my friend's mother and father are and never did feel any pain. This is what you two have to think about. I believe this young man didn't feel any pain at all when he died...there is a verse in the Bible which I will let you two search for and it goes like this:

"No man shall ever face death without facing God FIRST"

I pray for you CR and Myth, that this wound, that has come to you two and your school will heal, and know that this young man is with God now in heaven. The land of no pain, hatred, or sorrow.

I send you two my hugs and condolences.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away.

Read the poem in my signature it you'd like, it might make you both feel better.

Love you both and God bless.

When I was in 7th or 8th grade, a kid in my class named Austin got shot accidentally and died. I didn't know him though, because I was still new to the school. In the following years, an older girl named Lynn died and another girl named Trina died from a brain tumor. -_- It was a really small school and I knew who they were, but I never knew them personally. But seeing the rest of the students so sad was bad enough.

thank you all so much for your posts and prayers...

To answer your question, HitoKiri, my pastor said today that he recently accepted Christ.

Cephas, Thank you so much! Those verses really helped as did your account of your friend's family.

Again I appreciate all your concerns and prayer...that means a lot to me, and I am sure Myth as well...

Lifting up those affected by this tragedy.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

In a way, a sort of know how you feel. Three of our school's own students have passed away in the past three months, one in a car crash this summer, one was apparently drugged by her "friends", and another was a bo who had already had several health problems and didn't recieve a needed kidney, and last year, one of our school's teachers died in a car accident right outside the school.

I didn't know any of these three that well, but the girl was in one of my classes and my friend sort of knew the third boy.

Either way, it is very sad and shocking to hear something like this happening. The only thing we can do is to keep trusting in the Lord to help us in these situations.

In the beginning of last month one of my classmates died in a car accident. He was a really great kid, very cheerful, a good person to people. It's really sad hit our class hard... I wasn't a close friend of his but I had had some classes with him and we had some good times. I'll pray for your class.
