I'm glad your client started working though! :) Actually, lol my time expired last week and since I'm going to be so busy with school ending I don't think I'm going to renew it for now. :(

My account expires in May. T_T; I don't even want to think about the day it runs out, because I might not have enough money to renew it right away. *sobs*

I used to play Ragnarok Online. Last time I remember, I was a level 5 archer (can't remember base level though).

I am currently patching RO. I have signed up for the 15 day trial. I think I'm gonna roll a mage character....

Anyways, I will soon be on loki!

I'm currently downloading the 15 day free trial....only 7 hours and 28 minuets to go . Maybe I'll start a swordsman this time instead of an archer...

LOL. it took me 5 1/2 hours I think...perhaps a bit more. Was stunned since usually my net is pretty fast. 40kbps though. bleh.

Good luck being patient. ^_^ Meantime, I think i'm going to see if I can't unlose myself. Wanting to be a swordsman..er..woman...but needing some levels first. evil monster creatures keep killing me. bleh.

um...base level 8, job level 6. apparently one has to be job 10 to turn swordsman? I'm having a hard time finding where to level up though. currently outside of the Swordsman guild.

Yep, you need to be job level 10 to become a swordsman, and job level 40 to become a knight or a crusader.

Right now you should go to the field between Prontera and Izlude (Izlude being where the swordsman guild is) and level up on Poring and Fabre.

Ah ha. xD; Yeah, people summon a lot of stronger monsters on that one map for some reason. If you get sick of getting killed, you can always go into Prontera and leave through the left or right exits and level on those maps. They tend to be less crowded/insane.

I need help....

Postby Wild Eagle » Sun Jun 12, 2005 7:42 am

Ok, so I left my 15 day free trial for overnight download. I now have it installed and everything...but it's not allowing me into the game...

It keeps giving me this message "Cannot init d3d OR grf file has problem."

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not sure what exactly is the problem :?: .

Not sure if you've figured it out yet, but if not http://iro.ragnarokonline.com/support/questioncontent.asp?noticeSeqNo=38&Page=1&Condition=all&KeyWord=d3d&mNum=0

that should help. ^_^

Thank you! It's working now. That link was just what I needed! My character's name is Wilheim. Once I get out of basic training, I'll probably be hanging around the Izlude area (on the Iris server). See you there :thumb: .

Out of curiosity - what server are you guys on? I play the Loki server almost religiously, but haven't had a chance to play in a while since my account expired and I don't have the funds to renew it. ^^;

I'm on Loki. I created a character on the Iris server too, but I haven't the heart to go back to novice.

But yay...i'm base 18/ job 11. Still get killed too often and I really need to find myself a friendly party, but yeah...now that I'm not suffering as a novice it's easier and more fun. :jump:

Anyone heard of AeRO? Both my brothers were GMs on that server....

Anyways, my 2 cents of private servers. Imagine this, you spend 2 months of your free time to play on the public server (yes I payed) only to get ONE character to level 85. The insane amount of time I spent trying to get cards that dropped 1 in million... the countless hours mind numbingly killing monsters. The fact is, if the company made the game more accessible, I would have kept playing. But it wasn't accessible. The game was addictive, but it gave little in return. In that time I could have done a lot of other things.

But in a private server, I got the chance to see a powerful character, which is what I, and i'm sure a lot of other people wanted to do in games. In the same amount of time I spent in the official server, I got to got to play all the 2-2 class characters (and even more recenlty got to play with some Prestige characters), got all the cool weapons, and had the chance to compete against people who didn't use bots to gain there items (and even if they did, it was easy to get items so I could match them). And my addiction was served. I got what I craved and I stopped playing. Now imagine if I were to to try and do that in the official servers. I would be one of those people spending years just trying to see all the cool stuff., instead of doing things that would be benificial to me and mankind in general. I'm not saying people shouldn't pay for their games, or endorsing piracy, but if your reason for playing that game is the same as mine (and not merely for socializing) then playing the official servers is not worth the time.
We were meant to live for so much more.

I'm on a private server, with a lvl 70 Knight, a lvl 48 Mage, and a lvl 13 novice, but my computer keeps messing up when I try to play it because it just got updated, so I've recently stopped playing. I try to see if it works once in a while, but it just keeps getting an error message.

Edit: I was actually on Sakray. Not a private server. I deleted the game, though, because it wouldn't let me update. Guess if I want to play it again I'll have to download it again.

I guess you didn't see the massive, stickied post that OUTLAWED discussion on these illegal servers. Once again, private servers are illegal, and promoting them is not welcome here, no matter what the excuse.

The next post that mentions a private server will get zapped and the user striked.

Ohh poor Kokoro! *pats Kokoro's head*

Let me just point out to all of you that if you want to level your characters fast there is something called the SAKRAY server where you level much faster then the normal servers. Personally I can see why people would want to use a private server, but please don't go around proclaiming you do so, and defending it. You aren't suppose to talk about private servers on here anyway.

 Sakray servers work for fast levelling. >_> Or, you know, actually making friends and levelling up with them works, too. By myself I can get a character to job change within maybe a week (that includes the time I spend at school not playing). With someone helping, I can make it in 2 or 3 days. So just suck it in and make friends or something instead of parading your stupid private servers around, because you know, if you read Gravity's terms of service, private servers are a big NO-NO. Don't like it, check out the sticky and keep your mouths shut. >_<; I'm sick of all the backlash I get for this stuff.

Yay! Well said!

Seriously people Sakray is much faster leveling, as well as having people tank you or just help you when you are lower levels on any server is a big improvement. I got from a novice to merchant in 2 hours once all by myself on Sakray. And I've lost track of how many times I've had my poor wizard tank creamies for one of my friend's novie or very low 1st class character. On most servers if you have help it is not really that hard to get to the 2nd class, and on Sakray it's even easier. It's those 80+ levels that start to get insanely long to lvel at.
