Help getting a good Co-op game.

Does anyone know of any good co-op games for GC, PS2, N64, or SNES? My dad and I have been looking for a little while but have failed to find anything.

Super Mario World is the ultimate in cooperative SNES games. When one player dies or beats a level, it's the other player's turn. In fact, if one person isn't very good, the other one can give them lives. Super Mario All-Stars (SMB 1 and 3 only) is a good one too.

You didn't give specific genres, so that's the best I can do. ^^

Kaemmerite makes a good point. If you want a hack-and-slash with no real plot, you can always fall back on the Champions (of Norath, etc) series. That can be kinda bloody, though.

Genre information would be really helpful!

Final Fantasy IX was great fun for Zilch and I to play - until he used a turbo-ether for no reason. Then it got ugly. ;)

Tales of Symphonia (or any of the Tales series) are also a blast to play with someone else.

The Time Splitters series is sort of fun on co-op.

Mario Kart Double Dash is fun to play co-op instead of competatively.

BAH gypsy stole it....

Well tales of symphonia is kinda hard co-op sometimes.... like it can get annoying... but fun... but the other play only is active during battle

Time Splitters... GREAT co-op... time-splitters 3 is the best in my opinion, but has some objectionable content... (voluptuous females)

Thanks, as for genres, I'm not really sure. My dad prefers FPS's I think, but I don't really care.

Have you tried any of the Dynasty Warriors Games? My friends and I love to coop in that one all the time.

(The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for the GC or just the Four Swords for the GBA are both great co-op games. I never got to play the GBA version much, since no one that lives near me has it, or wants to play with me, but the GC version I've beaten, and is a great game. The only problem I can see is that in Four Swords Adventures, in order to play co-op, you need at least two GBAs and special cables. >_< You can get a pack that comes with a cable, but you still need another one. And GBAs besides. If you have all that, though, I'd recomend Four Swords Adventures.)

Cookie & Cream is a seriously co-op puzzle game for PS2. It's also pretty zaney/cutesy, so it's most likely not what you're looking for...but it was still a lot of fun....

Oh, and the first(?) Rogue Squadron game for GC has a co-op mode, if you like space combat games. Best double check which one it is, I can't remember the name.

(It's the third... For the GC, Rouge Squardon: Rebel Strike. I've played it and it is a good game.)

Lego Star Wars. I'm not big on co-op, but this game is a ton of fun.

For the N64 Perfect Dark is a great co-op game. And I'll say that TimeSplitters 2 is an AWESOME game! Both co-op and VS.
And James Bond: Everything or Nothing, is a fun co-op game. Not the best, but good if you want a challange.
I'll post again if I think of anymore.

My sister and I had a lot of fun playing Klonoa 2 for the PS2 together. Techincally one of the characters is one of those "great helpers that never dies and always comes back". And actually you can make it though the game without the extra character, it just goes way faster/easier with another person. It's a platformer game btw. It's also a little short so I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it if I were you. :)

Also Goemon's Great Adventure for the N64 is an AWESOME game to play 2 player. But it's a hard game to find outside of eBay. It is also a platformer, and again techincally you don't need the second person but it's more fun that way. Plus if you finish the game you can unlock a 4-player cooperative mode. Although it's hard to keep 4 people on the same screen. XD

Yeah I had that problem to. I was the only person who owned that game in my whole school.

You could try Advance Wars 2. I know noone is going to believe this unless youve seen it yourself, but you dont need another game to play the second Advance Wars Versus mode. If you turn on your GBA with one of them empty it will come up on the screen and you can play it.

Co-op games, you say?

PS2:
Champions of Norrath, Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1&2
X-Men: Legends (the sequel is coming out soon ;) )
Dynasty Warriors 5
Samurai Warriors
Burnout 3: Takedown
Street Fighter EX3

Xbox:
Halo 2
Phantasy Star Online Ep.1&2

All of those games specifically offer co-op play. For something that will keep you occupied for a while I would recommend Phantasy Star Online. You might have to go to Ebay to find it, but it is well worth the price (probably less than $20). The game has both online and offline co-op and versus play for up to 4 players. The gameplay is action-oriented, but there is a great deal of emphasis on timing and strategy that raises it above standard hack-and-slash fare.

You find that you have a weapon, an instrument that
will give you power over the wind and sea.
In one word, you can stop time. It is a weapon
so powerful that even God will bow
down to you and all his angels fall at your feet.
What would you do with it?

X-men Legends 1 and 2 are great co-ops. Tales of Symphonia also. If you like first person shooters: Timesplitters:Future Perfect is fun. Star Wars:Rebel Strike is alot of fun too.
