My Brother
This is both praise and a prayer request. My older brother has been in and out of mental hospitals for a few years now. He is 24. A few weeks ago, he disappeared for a day and a half after we thought he was doing better. The good news is that God brought him home without any damage done. He did not attempt suicide at all. However, he has attempted suicide a couple times before, and he scared us to death. He has been doing better again, but this little fiasco cost him his job. He needs prayer that he will continue to do better and that he will have success in his job search. Considering how fragile he is right now, he will probably consider himself a failure if he doesn't find a job soon.

I know how it goes with siblings who have mental problems - my sister. I will definitely be praying.

I know just how powerless you must feel right now.
I have two sisters that are on meds for a lot of things.
And a brother that takes illegal drugs and drinks all the time.

My brother has passed an important landmark: his 25th birthday. He had said he would be dead or back in the hospital by now, but he is neither. In fact, he and I are going to see a movie today with some friends. Unfortunately, the battle is not over and may never be. Please pray that my brother will continue to be strong.

It's good to hear that he's passed that milestone in his life! I'll pray for his strength and that he would draw near to God for comfort. I'll also pray for the strength of you and your family as you continue to fight this terrible battle alongside him. Father, I pray that you would send your Spirit to comfort him in his times of trouble. I pray this in Jesus' name.

My brother needs prayer for another ongoing issue. Ever since last time he was in the hospital, he has been unemployed. If he doesn't get a job soon, he won't be able to pay his taxes next year. And of course, it's giving him more reasons to be depressed. He is fluxuating a bit, but he is at least not having any major mental health issues at the moment.
