I'd provide the story while *you* provide the graphics.... i have no idea how this could work out... but im despirit  I got the idea from Hikaru No Go... one person did the story and the other did the manga... well okay then...

While this is a basically good idea, it really isn't original, nor is it possible. It seems all of the artists have plenty of ideas (some of them good, but not all, not that this applies to us here on CAA).

Trust me, I know on this issue.

Don't be discouraged, Ruroken! I think you've got a great thing going. :) You could pray about it, who knows?

MichiruT brings up a good point, in an area where I'm a bit too cynical. Pray about it, we'll see what happens. If God wants it, things will be arranged.

It is doable. *is that a word?* I think you have great ideas, and if you want help bringing them out in a way that would make Jesus shine through your art/writing, i would love to help.

what you need is an original idea, a nice artist, and some faith. you have great writing skills. :thumb:

i will help you, becuase, while i am not the greatest at anime/manga/writing, I feel God is showing me an oppertunity right here and now. I would be proud to help you.

ok. here goes nothing.
first, we need to pray that this succeeds with God's blessing.

second, we need to modify the script so that we know how scenes will play out. then, we need to know what each one of us who works on this project's talent is. that way all of us can do our specialties, and make this manga look rich.

third, we need a site to host this goodness. we could buy one, but i dont know how we would split the cost, etc. either way, *bought or donated* we need a large site.

fourth, we need to start using talents to create a picture of each character.

Finally, we can start production.

I hope i dont sound bossy, but i really love to help. this is the plan that I feel will help make the large progect into a nice easy, workable thing.

also, watch out for those who think that you have stolen their ideas. modify things so that they are yours alone. I dont want people getting upset over stolen ideas.

God Be with you all, and email me with more ideas. WE CAN DO THIS!!!
WITH GOD ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

I'll have to fully check out this story at a later date. Does the site have as much of the story as is currently on CAA?

heya i think i found a problem.. how are we to get these manga paages to and from each other?
i want it shaded by hand... someone would provide the senery another would drwa in the character and i would shade and add dialogue. if we cant phyiscly talk to each other, it seems impossible

While this is a significant boundary, it's hardly insurmountable. All three of you would have to possess industry level scanners, then e-mail various pages about.

okay i got it.... 1 artist draws the senery and somehow indicates where and how the character will be placed then with hopefully scan it and email it to another artist. 2 artist will draw in the character and them email the pic to me. i will print it out trace it and add the dialogue bubbles, scan it them put it up on the web... unless you guys have any better ideas

Planning everything beforehand would be the traditional method. There would be a document that states what the background is, where word bubbles are, who is where, etc.

Do you have anyone storyboarding for you? I could do it (my qualifications, in case you have someone better: Pilgrim's Progress, The Fall, some 40 some issues worth of other stuff).

Allow me to clarify a few things:

1) Should I begin working on storyboarding your story, as it appears on your site?

2) Do you want this left to right or right to left?

3) Are you going for manga sized pages or Western style pages?

4) Should this be in chapters?

Sorry for four questions. But if they get answered I could begin very quickly.

Thank you for answering three of the questions, now as to the third one:

The main issue is really number of panels. An average page could have 5-7 panels, and some big action panels could take up an entire page or perhaps two of them. American styled I'm not as familiar with, and there's more elasticity in the terms.

I wish you guys the best of luck.. I've always wanted to write my own manga myself, but storyboarding is difficult! There's so much creative freedom. Where should each bubble go? How big should each picture be and from what perspective? So much to think about!

UC, where did you learn to do it? Just through practice? Or have you gone to school for this sort of thing?

To answer HondaTooru's questions: It's mainly practice, and having an organized mind. One tip that I would have: look at the professional manga artists. See how many panels they have per page, their assorted styles/formations, how many pages they have per issue, etc. You'll notice one thing: there's a lot of variation. Almost anything goes, if you do it well. There aren't that many concrete rules to follow.

Now, if only all problems are that easy. I have a humble apology to make: I made my offer before I'd read the actual work in question. I just read chapters 1-6, and now I have some issues.

I'm sorry, but I'm not too certain I can do this unless some theological wrinkles are ironed out (or it is discovered you have an overall plot that makes them irrelevant).

I hold a pacifist position very seriously, and I don't think I'd feel right helping with this. Most of the Christians very blatantly use violence as a solution. If you can clarify, please do so, I'd still like to help you. Otherwise, I wish you all good luck.
