Okay everyone Ill try to keep this as short as possible. Around where I live there is a sort of beleif going around that has affected some of my freinds in the proccess. Whats happening is that for whatever reason they believe that there is another dimmension out there that they can go to by switching there souls into a body that is allready over there and sometimes the people from there can come here through our bodies.

Yes, I know that it sounds completely stuppid and thats what I thought untill I found that it has apparently spread into other schools and people that aren't even connected to each other. Ive tried to reason with my friends on nearly every level of biblical and scientific knowledge I have, but they refuse to listen.

Im not sure if you could classify this as a cult or not but I think that it might have spread far beyond my little corner of the world. There are some differences in the stories but ive found that the main things that stay the same are that you can switch bodies with someone who you are pared with from there. The place is very much like an anime and the time allways moves much faster there than here.

If any of you have ever encountered of any variation of this or have any ideas for getting through to my friends then I would really appreciate it if you post some thing. This is something that needs serious prayer.

That is something I have never heard before. It sounds like there are some New Agers who really believe it and bunch of spiritually susceptible people who will forget about before long like any other fad. In the mean time, it could do some damage. I'll keep this in my prayers.

i've never heard of that before. i thought you were talking about astral projection at first, but that's not quite the same thing. but yeah, it definately does sound occult/demonic/new age. maybe be praying against it to God.

Can I just say that I do not believe that this is just a 'passing fad' or that it is harmless. This has been going on for years, though it is only now that it is beginning to come to the surface. This stuff is INCREDIBLY dangerous!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Your name is above ANY other name! You have the authority over everything, and You have given us that authority to use in your precious name. Lord, we claim that now, and ask your protection for Wise Dragon. Cover him completely and utterly in Your precious blood so that no demonic influences can penetrate into his life.

Lord, we also bring his friends before You. They are in a very dangerous position, and Lord we ask in Your mercy to bring them out of that place and into a relationship with You so that You, Lord God, can cleanse them and turn them into mighty warriors for You who will help to free others in bondage.

Thankyou Lord for making W. Dragon their friend, so that he could be aware of their situation and bring it to the attention of other Christians. Thankyou for your immeasurable and imsurpassable love and wisdom, and thankyou that even though such bad things will increase, that You will save us that believe in You.

This does sound ridiculous upon first hearing. I would be interested as to why would you even -want to- switch bodies in the first place. Secondly, I would like to know whether they can even prove something like that.

The only thing I can say to you to stay strong and firm in your faith. While the darkness is creeping forward, do not fear. Jesus's light will radiate from you, shine upon the darkness to reveal its true ugly face and draw the lost ones to Him.

I think this is a variation of the New Age / New Spirituality movement.

It's a bit like "channelling", where a certain person who is more spiritual than others is said to be able to talk to other "teachers", or "ascended masters", etc. and pass on their teachings to other people.

I do not doubt the existence of these "teachers", but I have serious doubts about who they say they are.

The apostle Paul said that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities. I think when we try to reach out to those people, we would first start by affirming the validity of their spiritual needs, since we are all created in God's image and are therefore "irrevocably spiritual" in the sense that we seek something beyond ourselves.

Then we would probably need to form a relationship with them, and show them that we have Christ's love in us, so that they would want to know what it is that makes us who we are. It's a really hard thing to do, in my opinion. But I know this is what Christ called us to do ..

Sometimes it's tempting to get into debates with them .. try not to, because it does not help. However if they genuine want to discuss their beliefs and yours, I think it's a great opportunity to give reasons for our hope with humility and gentleness.

It sounds incredibly New-Age. And incredibly weird, but no weirder than therianthropy/wereism, I suppose.

Can you find any particular term for this belief? I'd like to do some research.

Lifting up the situation. And really it would be a good thing for us to be praying for all those involved in cults and false teachings. So many of these kinds of teachings are hitting college campuses today.

Around here, there's a cult that calls itself the Cincinnati Church of Christ. If you're familiar with the Boston Church of Christ or International Churches of Christ, they're all affiliated. They are not affiliated with the mainline Church of Christ denomination, but the name is deceptive. They heavily target newer believers, who know something about the faith but aren't as spiritually mature as to discern between what's true and what's not. From what I understand they have been kicked off of U. of Cincinnati's campus. I was approached by one at Miami U., though, and the guy was a very good talker; I can see where someone could be easily taken in.

I know I'm getting a bit off the main topic, but my point is that Satan has so many spiritually attractive things out there to target people. We need to be in prayer, and to really get into the Word and make sure we're grounded in It so that we're not taken by simply every teaching that comes around.

Im not relly sure what you could classify this as. It doesnt have any particular governing body that oversees everything so I cant really say if you even could research it. As for there being evidence there is deffinitely some demonic influence going on. When I was first told about it, my friend went back to school the next day and was asked why did he tell me about it. There was no way they could have known about it and I dont even know them. That tells me that they recognize me as being a legitimate threat and I believe that God wants me to do something about this. Legitimate yet still only me. Thank you Talame and everyone for your prayers. Im gonna need everything I can get and then some. I only hope Im wise enough to do what God needs me to do.

This is somewhat Occult related. I bet it's a Pagan thing, Pagan thing having to do with
so-called 'Majick' ( Yeah, that's how witches today define it, to seperate it from 'magic' tricks and illusions), I don't know from what religion, but probably something LIKE ancient Egyptian. It's demonic to make it short, and yes, te Devil can make it Work. He creates false realms. And there are so-called spiritual layers, many demonicly infested because that's where people 'Astral Project' to. Come to think about it, it may be from Africa, Shamanism, voodoo, or something like that.

I'm very sorry for your friends. They're playing a very dangerous game. Usually in arts like this the practitioners are just trying to seek some kind of power. As human beings made in the image of God, we were created to worship Him and bring glory to His name. It's in our very nature. And ultimately what the meaning of life boils down to. So,when we don't have God to worship, we look for something else to make us feel special, to give our lives meaning. I think that's really the basis for most new age practices. To find meaning and truth. We know that only comes through the Savior, but maybe your friends don't. I would pray for God to give you the right words, and I believe that if you ask Him, he'll give them to you at the right time. It's scary that things like this are spreading. In my own experience, I used to do magic tricks. Nothing weird, just card tricks and disappearing hankerchiefs. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but some weird stuff happened and it freaked me out. So now I just stay as far away from stuff like that as I can, you know? I hope we'll all pray against the religions like scientology and witchcraft that seem to be considered acceptable in our society. And I pray your friends see the truth.

I used to do magic tricks to, but I just bored with it. And yeah the people in this really are trying to give more meaning to there lives than what they already have. Thats what makes it all so appealing.
