God's Will for this Year in School. . .

Postby Mangafanatic » Mon Aug 15, 2005 1:19 pm

Hey guys!

Well, you guessed it! Osaka has another minor thing she would plead your prayers concerning. Here goes (Is copying this straight from a PM to Ashley. I hope you don't mind, Ash!!)

I have the feeling that there's something I'm suppose to do this year at school. I know, first of all, that there's someone(s) I'm suppose to befriend, but I think there might be something more I'm suppose to do. Due to a series of events, I wonder that it might a short Bible study of some sort. I've never considered myself a particularly gifted individual in the fields that such a responsibility would require, but a few days ago my mom said "Would you ever want to lead a girls Bible study with some of your friend?" I told her just what I told you, "I don't have those gifts." She then told me that she thought I had a lot of leadership skills.

After that, I had a conversation with one of the underclass men at school who mentioned that she was having a rough time with devotions. After she said that, I asked her, prefacing the question with "I haven't thoroughly prayed this one through yet-- but, if I lead a short Bible study during lunch hour, would you want to participate?" She was really excited at the prospect and said she definitely would. That evening, right before praying hard about, I went to do my evening devotion and I opened to the portion of John which I was next in line in my reading of that book to and read the passage about the harvest being plentiful but the harvesters being few.

So, I'm just wading through that one with God. I don't want to jump on this thing unless he's under me, but, if that's what he wants, I'm gonna go for it. If you could pray about that, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks a million, guys!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

You know I got your back. I'll be praying for you.

It seems like you have put a lot of thought into this, so I'm sure it'll turn out just fine.

Good luck :thumb:

May God guide you on your quest for Global Domina, er, um, on you're Bible Study this year.

It seems to me that you know which way you are being lead. Have you considered who may be able to help you if you decide to go forward? If you have a co-leader, or even just a good assistant, it can make it a lot easier for you.

I've attended bible classes. I found that success of a bible study also depends on the zeal of the teacher. if your student see this, they could get interested in your lesson.
I'll be praying...
