Anti Yaoi Fans

Postby MyrrhLynn » Mon Nov 10, 2003 3:25 pm

Wooohooo! I finally got off my lazy butt and fixed this! Some of you may remember Millyfan's old Anti-Yaoi Fangirls site. Well she has passed it on to me and I FINALLY made all the changes I wanted to. And did I mention it looks waaay cooler now that I changed it? ;) I guess it doesn't really classify as a "site" since it is only one page now but oh well. Let me know what you people think!

Although we're on opposite sides of the fence now, I must say, that is a great site in style and design. :thumb:

Although it might not mean much coming from me, I wish you well in following what you believe to be the right course. Hopefully, our paths won't cross in debate.

What do you mean anything else I can do with it? I slimmed it down to one page because to be honest I didn't want to maintain a ton more pages and all the extra pages started to repeat themselves. If I get some interesting e-mails I will probably add a "Mail Bag" page but as of right now I don't have any other ideas.

I will add you two the next time I update! :)

Thanks Millyfan for the well wishing. We probably won't cross in debate because the only place where I get really bent out of shape about yaoi is in the LJ antiyaoi community.

The site looks cool... although I am having a problem reading "About This Webpage"... it seems that the text only shows one line at a time, and trying to scroll it is a nightmare.

All the links in the locker room are broken links, except for the Megumi Hayashibara ones.

Sorry to bring up negative things. The graphics are really cool! I love how the site looks. They do take a while to load, though...

btw, I love your current avatar, MyrrhLynn. Pretty!

Are you sure you are talking about my site? o_O There is a locker room on there? Where?!?! And what do you mean about the text not showing up? Maybe I should have checked it better in different browsers.

Hey, a little tip to all of you posting your e-mail addresses here-put NOSPAM in those addresses or send them via PM to MyrrhLynn.

If a spambot comes to this thread, you'll all be getting a blizzard of spam. :(

Oops... My bad. The "locker room" is actually on the "Anti-Hentai Squad," which I linked to from your site w/o realizing I'd left it.

However, the "About This Webpage" text still does not show up, except for one line at a time... scrolling is possible but still shows up only one line at a time, and scrolls too fast, so it's rather impossible to read. I am using the browser Camino for Mac.

Oldphil says it's because you're using code that doesn't work on my browser.

Humm.. now that is bad. Is that the only section that freaks out? :eyebrow: And here I thought that Firebird was the most sensitive one out there. It could be the divided layers, but then you shouldn't be able to see anything. What do you mean it scrolls? It shouldn't scroll at all! There should be no scroll bar besides the default browser one.

There's no scroll bar; it's more of a "click and drag" type scrolling.... which is why it's so difficult to read. (It drags too fast.)

I can't see anything below the "About This Website" area... just a translucent white box. I don't know if there is anything else. And I see the sidebar, with the links, message board, and supporters. That's it. Aside from the links, the only thing I can click on from the front page is the "Anti-Yaoi Forum." That looks alright and seems to work alright, except I haven't registered and tried anything else on it.

Same for me on Camino on my Mac. I think the absolute positioning of that <div> layer is what's giving it fits.

Camino is based on the Mozilla engine, btw.

That's odd; how come it's doing that if the core components of Firebird and Camino are so similar?

[quote="EireWolf"]There's no scroll bar]

:mutter: Ok now this is just wierd. Well I changed a few things so see if that fixes it. If not I do have a theory but I don't know how to fix it. Maybe Divided layers are just evil... :shady:

So everything up above the "Our Mission" blue heading bar in the main section works? Or can you not even see that heading? And below the "About this Webpage" is a transulent box?? :eyebrow: what color is showing up behind it?, black?

:thumb: That fixed it!

I couldn't see "Our Mission" or anything below it before, but it's all good now. And the translucent thing... it's still translucent in the "About This Webpage" box, but it doesn't negatively affect the text or anything. It's just the background graphic showing through a little. But that doesn't need to be changed.

I now see the "Our Mission," "Supporters," and "Copyright" boxes. It looks complete now. :thumb:

Yay! I wonder which part of what I did fixed it? :eyebrow: Eh... oh well. Yeah the "about this webpage" part is suppose to be translucent. ;) If the section below it were translucent too, that would be a problem. :)
