Bad Flirt! Need Help!

Talk about anything in here.

Postby the_lizardqueen » Sun Aug 07, 2005 11:40 pm

Eh, if it's any consolation, flirting is pretty much a foreign language to me. Lessee, when I was fourteen, I beamed a hamburger box off of a guy's face at McDonalds only to later learn from my friends that the the foodfight was supposed to be 'flirty' rather than competitive and violently agressive :eyeroll:

Ack, and then there was that guy who went out of his way to request a drawing from me last year, and he kinda came back in after his group of friends had left to give me his cell number. To quote 'give him a call' if I ever got around to the picture', which I didn't, and I never called him. My one friend swears he was flirting, though I'm still rather confuzzled over that one..

Flirting is so complicated, my brain tends to fizzle and crash whenever I try it. Either that or I end up thinking I sound so ditzy and fake that I have the overwhelming desire to smack myself upaside the head.

Just my personal opinion: I don't like flirting, I find it a bit rude. Though luckily no one does with me, nor do I to anyone else.

Just an opinion. : )

Its wierd for me, I flirt when I dont mean to, which is kinda how some people say is the way me and my current and wonderful Gf got together, but I dont think so.
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 "Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth, So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless,"

I’m just joking around with this silly story that happened to me. Actually I am so ignorant in the Relationship department that I don’t even know what exactly flirting is????? But seriously I believe good strong relationships are built upon two people being good friends at first. The two people have to like each other before they can truly love each other. & The emotional side, the biological stimuli that produce the “googllieyesâ€

I personally agree with Impact. I think flirting is rather rude, though I can personally never tell if a girl is doing so.

However, your story reminds me quite of myself HS5000. Last year during the first semester of my senior year I had the most awkward lunch break ever. I hung out with a group of Christian friends that included guys and gals and it just so happened that in my lunch break this semester none of the guys from my group were in there with me, but all of the girls were.....

The first week or so was torment because I had no idea what to say and I am shy (except when I'm goofing off). But as time wore on it became easier and easier to talk to them, but mostly I listened. Y'know.... girl talk is really wierd.... ;)

Anyway, I can relate HS.

Yes it is. The things I heard... The jealousy of the new girl's looks and how all the guys stare at her (which I quickly dealt with by a simple glance at the new girl and a shrug), the problems with their boyfriends, the boys they liked... On and on.... By the end I was good friends with the lot of them because I actually listened. But that doesn't make girl talk any less wierder... :eh:

I don't have a boyfriend so..obviously I have no problems to talk about

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

In my futile past attempts to flirt I end up scaring the crap outta guys instead of getting them intrested in me (they've written notes and come and told me that I was just creepy, but I'm not! really! I'm just sort of different, or I actually am just that bad at flirting) And in the case that a guy happens to be flirting with me I fail to catch on. So for now I'm just trying to let whatever happens happen. Just plain talking without ulterior motives seems to work the best.

All...the...time!:P It's their modus operandi, it's in their nature to do that. What's up is down what's good is actually bad. They ask you a question and you give them answer you thought was fine but oh no!:dizzy: Sorry just gotta rag females out on stuff like that sometimes.;)

Well we do that because...there could be two options to what you're saying, and sometimes we think the wrong option is what you meant, so sorry..didn't mean to confuse you  Oh btw I don't enjoy doing it.....much ;)

Well if your not lieing about your age I would be creeped out to if a 3 year old wanted to flirt with me. All though I wouldn't pass them a note because I wouldn't expect they knew how to read. A 3 year old that can read trying to flirt with me. Now that is creepy. Lol. jk.

Webster says: Flirting is....

2: to behave amorously without serious intent b : to show superficial or casual interest or liking

Gee, you ought to be proud that you can't flirt then. My typical reaction to flirting is of great disgust and contempt. No wonder many guys didn't like me during my college years and neither do I care. ^^

You should listen to Mave. She smart.

That first definition is why flirting is so nasty. It's like... cheating. Saying something you don't mean. Someone could get hurt by it, no?
