I've got good news and bad news. The good news first. I'm finally out of hentai. It doesnt interest me anymore. The bad news is that I'm into ecchi anime instead, some of which skirt the borderline between hentai and anime. The progress I've made with dealing with my addiction to hentai has generally been slow and steady and I've got to the point that I just dont watch hentai anymore, however, I'm afraid that I'll fall back into it. The animes I'm watching now are sometimes just one step away from full hentai. Animes that are full of fanservice and such. I know how easy it would be to get back into hentai and i dont want that to happen. Thanks.

There are some for whom even a little is too much and might overstimulate them into falling back into worse things. I'm glad you recognize that, and I pray that you will be able to avoid the slippery slope.

Even fully clothed, but overly proportioned/etc., may be something that lets you slide the wrong way or may stimulate you to the point where you ignore your conscience. That's not a personal failing, it's just the way you're wired -- but you would still need to account for it, and avoid such situations before they start.

I'll also be praying for ya. But like some of the others have said, the best way is to just not tempt yourself. Watching ecchi or highly fanserviced animes will only spark more interest and curiosity. Like drugs, you can't just ease off of it little by little. The craving always comes back, usually twice as bad. Cold turkey is the hardest, but most effective way. And if the resources or opportunity is there, more times then not, people fall. The same applies to this type of situation. Having things around that spark interest will more then likely get us back into the habbit. I mean, what's stopping us if it's around?

I'm sure you know in your heart what you have to do, it's just getting the strength to do it. I'll be praying that God gives you the strength and determination to get over the addiction.

I actually hear that all the time but didn't really believe it too much until a few weeks ago when someone prayed for me about my problem. That's when I became convinced that prayer does indeed truly work!

Thanks for all the support. It seems to be working. I've got one other thing to note. I'm into shounen-ai and shoujo-ai animes. Ones which feature the love between two people of the same gender. Shounen-ai means boys love and includes such titles as Gravitation and shoujo-ai means girls love and includes titles like Revolutionary Girl Utena. I cant help it. There's something heartwarming about romance between two people of the same gender, which you just dont get when the two people are opposite genders. ^_^ Oh and this shounen-ai and shoujo-ai thing is pretty much unrelated to the hentai.

I can sympathize. i myself was once into hentai and that stuff can creep back into your life. As for the ecchi anime. Get out of it. That stuff will throw you right back into hentai. That also happened to me once. when I thought i was out of hentai, i got a bunch of pictures onto my computer. they weren't nude or anything, just had very revealing outfits. At first I was content with just revealing outfits and suggestive poses, but then that wasn't enough and BAM! I was back into hentai. I mean, I used to have pics on my computer that would get me banned in a heartbeat if I posted them here, so i can sympathize. But if ecchi anime gives you lustful thoughts, it can be just as bad as hardcore hentai. I'll be praying for you and I'm glad you are not underestimating temptation. Just out of curiousity, do you own any ecchi anime dvds? I can nderstand how it would be a bit more difficult to get it out of your life, but it would definitely be the right thing to do. At the very least, you could take them to Gmaestop and make a few bucks. Or it might be better to just destroy them. You'll be in my prayers. And whenever you feel tempted here is a good verse.

The prayers have helped alot. I've only just realised this but i havent watched an anime with more than the average level of fanservice aside from Ikkitousen in a long while and i havent watch ikkitousen for a little while either. Instead I've moved onto shounen-ai and shoujo-ai. By average level of fanservice i mean like Full Metal Panic. In other words the addiction to hentai is pretty much history. Depending on how you look at it my fanship or addiction to shounen-ai and shoujo-ai is just beginning. I think the chances of me returning to hentai now are slim. YAY!
