Yo, people, Anyonee here play guild wars? is a free MMORPG style fantasy game, that is very well one, very sweet graphics and great playability. Plus it has a good storyline running through it.

So anyone else play it? and what are your characters like?

My first is a lvl 13 Elamentalist/Monk and my second is a lvl 5 (ish i think) ranger.

Yes I play often, but I don't get on every day.

My character is "Samson Darksbane". I am a level 20 Warrior/Monk.

My guild is the Tyrian Vigilantes Alliance (LOL).

Feel free to add me to your list, but let me know who you are.

I am kinda stuck doing the Crystal Desert missions at the moment, it is so crazy over there .. with creatures being level 20 at a minimum... urghhhh..

But it's still kinda fun I guess.

hey, cool. yeah the monsters there are scary, i did the run to draknors forge yeasterday, and i died like tons because of the lvl 24 monsters

My husband and I are going to start playing in the near future. His copy of his game should be arriving soon and mine in a few weeks. I'm going to be a warrior/ranger and my husband is going to be a warrior/air elementalist. We usually play City of Heroes, but we wanted another MMORPG to play with our friends.

but yes, i play, so does my brother, our friends play too, we are in the guild firecrest order, i have a 13 ranger/elementalist and a 9 warrior/necro

Gosh, I've wanted to play Guild Wars for the longest time. I remember stocking the shelves at Bestbuy with the Pre-order things and it loooked really interesting.

I looked up pictures, movie clips and it looks pretty cool. THe main reason I want to try is that there isn't a monthly cost in playing it. That's what usually discourages me from most online RPG's.

I plan on purchasing it soon, when I get the time to actually sit down and plaly it.

yeah, free online RPGS are great, the Dot Hack RPG thats coming out is a Free MMORPG as well, i think companies are realising that you can make money out of a MMORPG with ought having to charge subscriptions. I mean because of that Guild wars is very popular

Yes, that's the primary reason I got it too. I just didn't feel like getting the World of Warcraft because even if I wasn't playing it, I was paying for it.

i find that guildwars does not feel like a typical mmorpg, to me it feels like playing neverwinter nights multiplay mode or dungeon siege, maybe even diablo, and i love the feeling, i dont get the droning grinding feeling that i was getting with wow for the last few weeks i was playing it, dont get me wrong, wow is a great game, i enjoyed it for months and months, but i just got tired of it

I've been checking out Guild Wars for awhile now, and it interests me, esp. with all the acclaim it's been getting. I also hear that leveling up is based more on skill than time?

Yeh it's more to do with skills than levels, since the current cap is 20.

However some things you should be aware of:
- the NPCs don't move their mouths when they talk
- graphics up close does not look as sharp
- chat function is not that great. For example, being able to right click on a person's name and click "invite to party" or similar via the main chat window seems a reasonable ask, esp. when some players have long complicated names. But this is not implemented in the game, to the best of my knowledge.

Apart from that the rest seems pretty good.

I'm still on guild wars too, the new expansion is going to give 2 new classes with 1 being confirmed as assassin. and they are increacing the no. of character slots to 6 per account with the expansion.

I would have loved to join your guild if I am not already in a guild. And the fact that I am the guild master means I probably shouldn't ditch them...

We're the Tyrian Vigilantes Alliance, but we don't PvP often. In fact there's only like 2 members (me and this other guy hehe) that come on often now.

Okay just letting you guys know .. I am usually on 10pm Sydney time (which is GMT+10, I think GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time).

I have no idea what time that would be at where you guys are .. but if you know what GMT is perhaps you could work it out. Yeah..

umm i play at random times, usually around 10-12 and random times throughout the day

over here we run on base GMT time, and i got a watch for my Christmas with a funky world time function where i can check times in other timezones. i am also rather random usually
