Actaully it was not started by Gene Simmons. I belive it was started by Rob Halford of Judas Priest. And while some people get all uptight about it, I do it quite often at concerts. \m/ It simply means rock on. It's as much a part of rock and roll as long hair and flannel. But everyones free to belive whatever they want. *laughs*
I've actually heard that there are some subtle differences between the sign language for devil and the rock on sign. I have no idea what they are, however.
