Smilies

Postby Mave » Fri Nov 14, 2003 11:27 am

Hi everyone,

I probably haven't read about this somewhere but was just wondering whether we're allowed to use our own smilies (i.e not breaking any rules)? Or whether we're going to add more to our option list?

Provided they are in good taste (an applicable), you are allowed to attach most any picture you want to your messages (small animated gifs included). If we really like it, it's possible it may end up in the 'main' list. ( Forexample, I created the 'forehead' :forehead: smiley).

It always looked like one of those ballerina positions to me. I can just see the smilie on its toes, its hand gracefully moving to its head ...

I think we need a good confused/questioning smiley. I'll post a few if anyone's interested. :)

I've mentioned this to djnoz before, but I think we should have a "prayer" smiley. Yeah, and confused is something I've wished we had before :)

Could we add this smiley Image as a forum smiley? It's like my favorite "bouncing fangirl" smiley, and it's kind of bothersome linking to it on my webspace.

Michiru, I love the disgusted and yawning smilies! Those are so cute.

I debated whether to say something or not ... but I'm going to.

I really don't like the idea of having a praying smilie. I mean, when I say I'm going to pray about something, I really mean it. And .. for some reason, popping in a praying smilie just seems ... I'm not sure how to word it.

Well, I guess I could put it this way. If I posted a serious prayer request, I'd be a little disoriented if I got a heartfelt reply and promise for prayer, and then a Image. I dunno, maybe I'm just taking it too seriously. :eyebrow:

Actually...now that you put it that way, I agree with you, Gypsy. It's always to be taken seriously...so you're right, adding something that's as good as fluff to a prayer request somehow lessens the seriousness of it, I think...-_-

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.
