Ironically enough, my copy of Final Fantasy VIII wouldn't work either. Of course, I got lucky in the fact that mine cut off right after the intro movie on Disc 1 so I was easily able to take it back to Gamestop and exchange it for a working copy.

As for the Hi-Ho Trolls, yes, I seem to recall that they were annoying. Chrono Cross is not a very difficult game overall but every now and then you will run into bosses that have cheap and quite damaging attacks.

Fort Dragonia is so hard.....meh!

How can Marcy be such a powerful person. She`s a 6-year-old snobby rich girl....sheesh.

Yes, Marcy is evil. Not as bad as the old guy to whom I can't remember the name of who you fight way later on though.

Tell me it`s:
Radius
Who is Miguel?

Do you ever see Lucca in this game? and I heard you go to her house. And I also heard you can see the potrait of her and the original party from CT. How can this be so if you never go to the Main Continent?

And how long until Lucca- Luccia explained? I`m at Fort Dragonia.

Not Radius.... there is a point in the game that looks like the Town Square from Chrono's hometown, and you see a few kids that look like Chrono, Lucca, and Marle, but they dissapear. An old man appears and explains some stuff to you, then you fight him.

It's been a long time so my memory is real fuzzy on this. I remember the guy was HARD.

Crono, not Chrono.

Is this dude on Disk 1 or 2? I better prepare for him?

That... I'm not so sure of. I think it's 1.

You should make sure your characters are powered up enough... and don't use any Dark element characters. I don't know how far you are in the game so I don't want to spoil a major twist for you, but I'll say that Serge's element will become black at a certain point in the game, and I don't remember if it still is at the point of the game when you fight this guy. This will make it more difficult.

Don't neccesarily believe everything I've said is canon, because my memory is VERY fuzzy on this.

(Someone feel free to throw out the name of this guy if you remember it)

Spoiler about why Serge's Element is black:
Serge becomes trapped in Lynx's body.
The guy's name would be Miguel.

Unfortunately, Serge's element IS black when you meet him. Yeah, I know, it sucks.

I didn`t read Azier`s post but I think I read somewhere:
Serge and Lynx switch bodies.
Am I right about that spoiler?

I named Serge "Tom". Why? Because you`re supposed to be him in the game and he doesn`t talk so I might as well share names. And when the children in Arni call me "Tomy" I imagine that would sound a lot better than Sergey. the only other person I named was NeoFio, i named her Diasy.

So Lynx is evil, period?

I have a good idea for Chrono Trigger in the Out of Character Roleplay scetion. PM me if you`re interested.

Chrono Trigger can run you 150-200 dollars..Earthbound is 80 on Ebay. The SNES version of games are always better than other kinds.

That's a ripoff. I've seen the SNES version WAY cheaper than that. In addition, the value of CT SNES should have dropped when FF Chronicles was released.

Well, either way, PS1 Chrono Trigger is great and I`m fine with that. I got used to the slow loading thing fast. Once you get used to it, every other game seems wicked fast.

I personally either think Cross is better or they are tied.
I do wish Serge vould talk though.
And everyone complains about the over 40 characters thing.
This game is supposed to be more realistic. If you wanted to save the world, would you bring 5 people a long or 40?

It's not that. It's that you can't have any character development if there's 42 characters. They're going to be one-dimensional and uninteresting. For example, Janice, the bunny girl. What did she bring to the game? Nothing. She had no definable personality other than she was a bunny girl.

The other problem is that if you have more than a few characters, it gets WAY too hard to keep them all even in terms of growth. More than likely, you're going to have a few characters that you aren't going to use, and they're going to be much weaker than all your other characters. Then if you have to use them for a sidequest, they're going to be a hindrance in battle because they're so weak, because you haven't been using them. And with 42 characters, it's WAY too hard to keep rotating them out to make it even.

They should've only had two characters for each element color to provide a little variety, which would've only given you 12 characters. Still quite a few, but not an insane amount that would result in some characters never being used. For example, I've NEVER used Skelly. Ever. I don't think anyone has. Why is he in the game? He's a waste of programming space.

I know, but in real life if 40 people saved the world, they`re not going to get outrageously into each person`s personality. That`s the relistic aspect of it. But it`s not relaitic to have a bunny helping you out. Pip is cool though.

That's what I'm saying, it's not a realistic game...you travel across dimensions and fight Hydras and meet talking plants and dwarves.

So I don't mind if there's only seven people like there is in Trigger.

Heck, look at Marvel comics. How much can the Fantastic Four do by themselves? And there's only four of them. Granted they usually team up with other hero groups when the situation warrants it, but they can handle quite a bit with only four people.

That's part of the thing about having powers, which the characters in Trigger had in spades. :D

Blargh, there are. You should have dropped by Viper Manor and opened the chest in the soldiers' room. It doesn't look like a normal chest, but anyways, there's a Revive element in there.

With that said, I didn't like Cross for the most part because of the confusing storyline and insane number of characters that contributed nothing to the storyline. Also the Dual/Triple Tech system was (mostly) removed. There were what, six Dual Techs and two Triple Techs in the game? Sadness. I loved pulling out Triple Techs in Trigger. That's part of what made it fun.

Okay, I'll stop bashing now, I promise. The point is, I didn't care much for Cross.

Cross DID have good music. Man, did it have some good music.

I'd have to agree with you there, I played through Chronotrigger back in junior high and the game seemed to have a more understandable story though I think they mixed some of the timelines up and limiting the characters really helped make for a better RPG. I played Chronocross a year ago and had to keep going to Gamefaqs because I kept getting stuck and to figure out what characters I wanted. I also missed the battle system that Chronotrigger had incorporated into that game and wondered why they didn't put it in the sequal. I also concur that Chronocross did have some of the best music I've ever heard for a RPG game.

Of course it would still be there..It's like any other chest in the game, it just looks different. >.> But...On my first play-through, I went through the first section of the game without that element (I found the second one later on). So, it is by no means impossible to progress without it. Just easier.
