Permits.

Postby Kireihana » Thu Jul 14, 2005 2:53 pm

I failed it! The permit test! I'm a failure! Now I won't be able to get my driver's liscense on the EXACT millisecond I turn sixteen! :sniffle:

Lol. And I only missed it by one question two. (I got seven wrong; the most you're allowed is six). *deep sigh*. I can't go back for two weeks...

Read the manual cover to cover the day before the test. That's what I did, because I'm a loser.

Ah, I failed by two questions, but passed it the next time. I passed the driving test on the first try.

But I was seventeen at the time.

LOL, don't worry. I got my permit a long time ago, and I have yet to get my lisence. I almost failed the permit test...I missed four, and I was allowed to miss six. Besides, you have to take Driver's ED and drive around with an adult for at least 30 hours or something (in SC, at least), so I'm a long way from getting my lisence! You'll get it eventually, though! n_n

And it's the Tennessee test at that. What question did you miss? The one about which wagon had the right of way at the flashing yellow light in town?

Jussssssssssst kidding.

I sense a geographical slander there, but I'm not sure I get it...

In Tennessee we can get our permit when we turn 15, graduated license at 16, and full license at 17. In other states I know you have to be 15 1/2 for the permit, 16 1/2 for the license, etc...

One of the questions I missed was:

"If you want to pass a car to the right, you should only do it if
A. The car is turning left
B. You have any kind of emergency
C. The car is driving in an unsafe or reckless manner (or something to that effect)"

The answer was A.... I guess the wording (and just directions and general  ) confused me.

The other stuff was mostly statistics and laws, like what's the minimum amount of prison time you're sentenced to on a first time DUI...

In South Australia you can get your Learner's permit at 16, then your you have to be on them awhile. Then when you turn 17 (I think) you can get your P's and if everything goes well you can have your full liscense by 18 years of age.

I'm 21 and I haven't got my L's even. I have a great fear of driving on the roads, (minor accident and scares on cousin's farm) and this coupled with my dyslexia makes it hard for me to understand the drivers test book. Not to mention I've read the book numerous times, but can't seem to retain the information. I don't care if people pay me out about it, but it would be nice to have the freedom and indepence that goes along with it. Not to mention I won't have to catch the bus to often. (I hate buses).

You are 15, I wouldn't worry about it. Learn up for it again, maybe get family members to test you beforehand and I'm sure you will go well!

I read as much as I could... but it all boggled my mind and I got so bored with it! XD Truth is, I have no burning desire to tear up the roads... but then again, my mom requires me to have 1,000 miles under my belt before I go out for my permit, so I'd like to get started.

On the other hand, I'll be forced to chauffeur my younger siblings everywhere... argh!

Yeah I forgot to mention that regardless of age, you have to have your permit for at least 180 days before you can get your license. But I think that's basically the same in all states. It's interesting to hear how it is in Australia though, Warrior4Christ.

You should definitely go ahead and get your permit/license. Just to get it over with and save trouble later. You'll want the experience when you start college and such.

The driving test should be easy for you. If I could lend you my photographic memory, I would. :red: Lobotomy, anyone?

Have someone quiz you on the information - and look for the patterns.

For instance, Kireihana, in the question you gave, one answer had to do with traffic flow, one with your circumstances, and one with the other driver's circumstances. As such, I could tell you that the answer was A, even though it's different in my state, simply because of the nature of the question.

I failed my first drive test because I got into a high-speed accident and killed the evaluator. His name was Kenny,* so everyone around yelled "Oh my gord, you killed Kenny!"**

* Actually, his name was Ken or Kenny or something like that.
** Except for the name, the rest of this story is rubbish.

I live in a small town, and my best friend once counted how many stop lights we had total. I think there's 4. And they're labeled too. So whenever we're driving through town, he'll yell out the stoplight number. (He's not from there.)

I could of gotten my license years ago. But I don't really have much of an interest in driving. If I could I'd MUCH rather ride my bike or run to wherever I need to go. But I SHOULD have my license in september (if I pass the test)
