General rules, guidelines and policy information pertaining to CAA as both a ministry and a forum
See the mission page for more details.

Statement of Mission :
To provide a clean, G-rated place of fellowship for both Christians and non-believers, as well as a gathering place for projects relating to the anime field such as manga production and animation. Officially non-denominational, and most questions--if they are not about salvation directly--are asked to be kept to private emails, since we do not wish to offend any Christian brethren. However, biblically-unsound doctrine will be reprimanded and appropriate action taken.

Forum moderation/control :
All administrators and moderators retain full right to edit any post they deem unworthy. Profanity is on a zero tolerance level here, as is lewd comments, sexual references and the like.

Administration :
Moderators report to Administrators, and Administrators report to each other and to the owner/founder [Ashley]. All leadership report to Christ Jesus. Anyone may contact the aforementioned leadership at any time. The leadership here was hand-chosen by both God and the other administrators. We communicate to each other if there is a problem, pray about the appropriate action, and then act as a single unit to perform it.

Standards
One of our primary goals is to provide a list of Christian-approved anime and a list of anime that should be avoided. Violence, cursing, hentai (pornogrophy), homosexuality and nudity will be dealt with accordingly, not glossed over like many other reviewers. For example, if there's an episode with a nude scene but has a good message, we'll highlight both things in there, not just up-play the message and down-play the nudity.
As in everything else, CAA will take Biblical attitudes towards homosexuality and other subject matters. While this means we do NOT promote the act itself, we recognize the people involved in this act are sinners, just like us. Christ came to forgive ALL, not just the good people. In this context, CAA's policy is 'love the sinner, hate the sin'.

As I write this, I hope I am not coming across as a stern dictator, but more as a very highly concerned and protective leader. God has placed me in this position and I value it very highly. That's why I put these rules in place; to protect and guard this precious community. To be blunt, we're not afraid to stand up to the truth if someone tells us otherwise, and have been known to do so on occasion. We are quick to defend and long to hope for the good.
I take full responsibility for any actions of this forum. I answer to God for my actions, not to man, but seek to please Him the best I can. If anyone ever has need to contact me, I welcome it with open arms.
In Christ Jesus,
Ashley

I think the policies are helpful on keeping the site clean. I also think that the adm. are doing a great job as well.

Thanks for your support guys! I know that sounds really cheesy, but I mean it. It's a lot easier to run a site when people actually agree with your decisions/rules...trust me.

That reminds me of a Mark Lowry song done to Song of Songs, titled "Why Not Me" (I think). It was a great song, and very apt for the current thread. :2)

So...yeah. Bye-bye.

Notice that the letters of Song of Songs (A.K.A. Song of Solomen) are S.O.S. :?: I tried to read S.O.S. but after a few chapters, I just couldn't stomach any more... way too mushy for me...

Well, SoS is a rather difficult part of the Bible to study, especially if you can't relate to the people in it, but it makes for really good study when examining godly relationships between married couples.

Gentlemen, this really isn't the place to discuss this. I'm not certain if this counts as a theological debate, but its place is certainly not here. Start a new thread if you feel it merits discussion.

Sorry about this Ash, but can ask for a point of clarification? While I agree with the rule, a little more explination may be helpful. What about 'running gags' in the welcome thread? e.g. *welcome to the nuthouse* *hands chocolate* Etc. Is the welcome forum safe from this rule?

Thanks!

(Little does everyone know that Ash beat oldphil with a bat for overstepping his bounds.)

Anyway, I really did click to reply to stress again what Ash said. If you have a question about any of the rules, guidelines, or policies, you are more than welcome to ask about it. I think it goes without saying, but leave it the gypsy to say it anyway: it's ok if you have a problem with one of the rules, but the mods and admins will not let a debate ensue.

I mean, for all anyone knows, I stuck a bogus rule in there just to see if everyone is paying attention ...

The answer was saying "wilkommen" or "welcome to the nut house" or whatever are fine on the welcome boards and do not count as canned posts.

I actually have a question about the rules...

When you say "No theological debates," does that mean that we can never discuss anything other than anime, games, etc.? I am aware of the importance of unity, but how far can disagreement go before it is not tolerated?

Well, this board *is* primarily focused on anime and games, isn't it?

You'll notice that there are some threads on more general theologic topics that start up. If they start up and discussion becomes lively, then it's sort of a subjective thing about what its endpoint is -- but that's usually when the discussion degenerates into an argument, and very few threads (especially on particularly contentious theological issues) don't *not* end up in an argument.

This question gets asked very frequently, and it simply comes down to 1) what the topic and focus of this board is, and 2) what is going to encourage the Christian growth of the people who are here. Theological debate just dilutes out #1, and can become contentious enough to stunt #2, so it's actively discouraged.

As a general note to anyone else inquiring about this, please make this post the last question on this point. The answer isn't going to change.

And, as an addendum, we actively direct people to places where you *can* discuss it, too -- see the forums link.
