I love to listen to Deep River and Yoko Ishida, and the Pillows (I think that's right). :forehead: I hope they're J-pop.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I think people refer to japanese music as "J-Pop" too much now. Remember, there is the word "Pop" in there as well, it's not just the "J"
If you want only pop music, then ok. But if you are referring to any type of Japanese music, don't use J-Pop.
I don't like the words "J-Pop" or "J-Rock" that much anyway, it sounds almost derogatory. Just like when people call anime "Japanimation", it pisses me off and I correct them to never call anime that again.

It'd be the equivalent of a Russian asking "What's your favorite "Ameri-pop" band and they say Enya. Is Enya pop ?

My favorite Japanese groups/singers would be:
Puffy Ami Yumi
Yuki Kajiura (composer of Noir and .hack)
The Pillows

Well, it IS made in Japan. It's not like they are going to make songs that are universal to everyone in the world all the time. Their target audience is Japanese, hence why it's made in Japan.

I always thought that "jpop" was referring to the popular, contemporary music in japan. And a lot of artists and types of music are popular, from Hamasaki Ayumi to Chemistry, to Gackt.

Hmmm... "Japanimation" is derogatory? It's a combination of the words "Japan" and "Animation." You can call it anime, but in Japan that would refer to all animation, including American animation. I've used both. *shrugs*

Do we have a Nihon-jin in the house who can tell us what's PC as far as these terms go?

In one episode of fruits basket, Uo-chan called Tom & Jerry an "anime." I guess the Nihonjin just shortened "animation" so they could say it easier. They did it also with "television" - "terebi."

Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.
