takes 44 days to be completely purged of the old habbits. You'll need to pray often. I still haven't been able to pull it off... what can I say... the addiction to porn is the same in the brain chemically as is the addiction a crack addict faces.

I'll pray for you.

It's not about how many days. I went about five straight months before and it still came back. All you have to do is have the will to stop, pray to God to help ya, and avoid temptations that will lead you to do it.

I'll pray for you... though, I must say that my track record is much less impressive. Keep strong. Finding something else to do with the time wasted on this filth is probably the best idea right now, so that's my best suggestion. That and great amounts of prayer for God's guidance and protection over the mind.

I'll pray for you friend. And I'll be praying for all those who suffer from these types of addictions. And I ask that you pray for myself, that I would keep away from the addiction. My prayer for all of us is purity and chastity. But these addictions can be beaten. Remember, "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:37) So we all can beat these addictions, if we rely on him who loved us and makes us more then conquerors.

God Bless

It takes a strong person to ask for prayer for something like this. It's summertime, so I can assure you many people who have a bit of time on their hands are going to be struggling with this. You can do it through God, Ryan. I know you can. You're in my prayers

Will do, Ryan.

Do your parents know you struggle with this? They could probably be a good safe guard if you're willing to tell them. . .
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'll pray for you. I know how hard it is not to look at that stuff.

1 Corinthians 10:13 in the NIV tells us, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.â€

OK, so I have a question, but I don't know if its stupid or not, so bear with me. Could you get some kind of a parental block set up on your computer so you can't access those kinds of sites? I know that you could still get to them other ways, but it might help in moments of weakness at your house if you didn't even have the option of going there. . . just a thought. . .

I know how it goes. It's better to confess to your parents than having them find out other ways. Trust me. It would of been better to have never owned a computer. I'll be praying for you Ryan.

I'm praying for you.

My brother and my father have both been struggling with the same thing for years. They aren't aware that I know, but it's definitely messed me up pretty badly. But this probably isn't the place to get into that. I really hope that you'll be able to get past this, I believe you can.

Pornography is a disgusting thing. That's rad that you asked us to pray for you about that and I definately will. My prayer is that you would allow the Holy Spirit to come into that hidden corner of your life and purge the sin from you by the power of God. It's definately a hard thing to get over, but just because it's as chemically addictive as crack or whatever doesn't mean a thing. It can be beaten by the power of God. I've been clean for about three years, not because I did it by discipline or anything else but just giving the problem to God. Of course it's not as if you eliminate all practical measures to avoid it, but these things (for example, finding more productive things to do) are evidence of God working in you. Depend on the power of God and earnestly ask Him for it. I'll pray for you, bro!

Tempatation is one aspect, access to it is another. Both together makes it a hard battle to beat. I'll be praying for you that the Lord will help you through this tough time. But as long as you have access to the stuff (i.e. Internet) it'll become that much harder to break. Because anytime you get tempted, it'll be there. If you can, try doing something like the others said such as blocking sites. My only advice is to always keep busy. Listen to music, play games... whatever it takes to not think about the temptation.

I'll be praying for ya.. Good luck man

Another bit of advice: Try to access a computer that is in the open, or try to limit your access times when people aren't around. Also, the moment that you feel tempted to access those dark sites, get away from the computer immediately and do something else. If you don't, it will only nag at you until you do.

Finally, keep this in mind: any kind of secret is like darkness. The more you try to bear it on your own, the greater the darkness will build. However, once a secret is revealed, it's like shedding light on the darkness. Anything the light touches will destroy the darkness. So, the more TRUSTWORTHY people you involve in the fight, the weaker the darkness will become until it's gone forever. Don't stop fighting when you feel strong, though. This kind of enemy will use sneak attacks if it can't take you head on. So, keep your guard up. As the Word says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

And remember the words of Jesus...

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell." ~ Matthew 5:28-30

Plus this one is really helpful to me...

1 Corinthians 6:9-20
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Live your life, love the Lord, and don't forget to laugh...
