A medical update of sorts

Postby Jasdero » Sun Jul 03, 2005 11:25 pm

I made a thread here a month or so ago with a few details of my medical condition. Well, there have been a lot of changes in conditions and possible results. I'm making this thread because I really have become mentally and physically exhausted and I'm so fustrated with my health. ToT/

I've had sharp chest pains that come with a difficulty to breathe on a daily basis for the past 3 or 4 years. There were painful, but still tolerable. I didn't have to alter my way of living because of them. In the last 4 or so months, though, they've become unbearable. They were more sudden, and I had occasional periods of time when I couldn't see well because of how my gasping for air would bring these red dots to appear in front of my eyes. But, since they were only appearing in the evenings, or when I was very distressed, I kept it quiet from friends and family so that they wouldn't worry. However, in the past two months they've been much more frequent and I wasn't able to hide them any longer. My mother immediately took me to a doctor who tested my blood, preformed an EKG, and a few other tests. They found that my blood pressure was abnormally low and decided that those particular problems (chest pains/breathing) were because of stress from a variety of factors.

Now, in the last month, it hasn't lessened at all. In fact, it just continuously gets worse. My doctors all say that it's not very likely I'll ever completely recover. Also that because of my delicate health, if I were to catch a strong virus, my body might not be able to fight it off. All of them attest my current condition to be due to a heavy amount of stress, and so, they've referred me to counselor in hopes that he'll be able to help me pull out of this emotional mess. It hasn't really improved anything much, yet, but I'm hoping it does. I had to go to the hospital last Monday evening because of some very high emotional stress that flared up and made breathing almost impossible for a time. I really want this all to pass. ToT I don't want any more doctors and emergency visits.

Meanwhile, I have to just adjust to as much as I can. Whenever I go out, there is never a time when I'm not accompanied by someone else. There's always an arm around my shoulders or waist in case I were to collapse. I have indeed "passed out" in public. >__< It's so incredibly embarassing and I can't help but feel like I'm draining all my friends and family when they have to take care of me so much. I become very pale at times, which drives them all to a worried frenzy because it's usually been a sign of a possible collapsing period. I'm very grateful and love them all so dearly for their concern and care, but I'm also irritated with myself for not being able to walk on my own without worry. Yet, I don't know what I would do without them. 5 of my dearest friends flew over Thursday evening for a planned weeklong visit (they're considering extending it) and they've been such a great support group. They'll be reading this in a few minutes and I just wanted them to know how much I appreciate and love them. ^O^/ I give my thanks to all my friends, really. Whether you're someone I've met online or in-person. ^__^ You all rock. I appreciate any and all prayers you can give. I just want this to go away... I'm become so weary of it. The pain isn't so bothering as much as having the pain, if that makes any sense. >o</ So that would be all. Thanks to all who read this. <3

Poor Sunako! I will pray for you. Infact, your name is written on the back of my hand in pen. . . meaning I'll remember.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I don't like bumping threads, but there's no reason to create a new one. My chest pains have been bad this week, so I just wanted to ask for a continuation of prayer. It's always really nice to know that there are people who are praying for your recovery and well-being. ^__^
