How often do you see\contact family?

Postby Aeolus21 » Sun Jul 03, 2005 12:40 pm

This is a question for those who have moved out and on their own: Just how often do you visit or contact your family members?

For me, living an ocean away from my family (who are in the Philippines) has not made it easy for me to see any of my family members. Usually I would write to them and send them e-mails about every week. Though I manage to visit them once every other year when the airfares are at a good price and when the weather is good.

Thank goodness for e-mail and long distance services! :)

Hm, aside from a few near me, rarely, and even them I don't see much.

I live on my own. I have done so for about six years, but my parents are only an hour away, so I generally go see them at least once a week and stay a day or two :D

While I live with my family right now, I'm moving out in August to a dorm room. We've worked out that I'll check it on a night when my parents are both always off (like Wednesday or Sunday) and email often. It's 5 hours away, so I'll probably come home on slow weekends or holidays.

My family is currently located halfway around the world from me (~ 24-27 hours by flight). I email updates or chat with them whenever we meet online. I try to call home every fortnight but it's been hard to keep track when I get too busy.

I haven't been home for almost 2 years and won't be able to come home for another year at least. Admittedly, I get homesick and wished I didn't have to do everything on my own, every now and then. My hope is that God will take care of my family and friends during my absence.

I probably see/hear from them at least once a week. However, my family only lives about 90 minutes drive away, so I usually go "actually physically home" at least once every couple weeks to boot (besides the phone).

I live in South Carolina and most of my family are in Oregon and Washington. It's usually every 2 years that I am able to see some of them. My oldest brother, it's been over 10 years since I have seen him. The hardest part is the fact that my mother's health is not good now. I talk to her by phone often. God's calling is not always easy in regard to distance from those you love, but the reward of faithfulness will far outshine this in the longrun.

I moved away from home about three months ago. My family is actually visiting me last week and this week.

I really don't have any plans for the future, so I don't have anything keeping me here except that I didn't want to live at home... But it's really tempting to go back since I'm not exactly moving forward in life here. =/ I'm just kinda stuck in not knowing where I need to be.
