Yeah it was a nice song Soph...It seems like one that'd be sung with a huge choir. I'll be looking forward to some more from you. Also from you CA!

*gets out conducting stick* "And a one, and a two, and-" ;)
Thanks! Hmm... I guess it could sound nice that way. I wasn't really thinking about how it could be performed, but a choir does sound good.

I also look forward to hearing some more of your songs, TD (and FE, too. I've finally touched down on a weekend so hopefully I'll finally get my fanart posted :) ).

Well, here's my go at the song topic 'thoughts'. I guess I'm using it more as a theme or angle than as a refrain.

'THOUGHTS'

I'm falling over and tumbling again
I know that I have let you down before.
I cannot forget all the love that you've shown
but I seem to always cast it on the floor.

I know what I should be and I know just what I am
My failures and shortcomings very clear.
My spirit is so willling but the rest will not comply,
I come before you quaking and with tears.

Then you come, with tenderness
and take all of my striving far away.
It is your grace, that leads me onward,
and gives me strength to live within your Way.

I am sitting still, and just thinking of you,
and how your death covers my shame.
Your strength fills in my weaknesses, leaving perfect peace
and I am left forever not the same.

I'm holding so tight to your everlasting grace,
I've let you down but you are changing me.
You do it so gently, with unending love,
I praise your graciousness I've come to see.

Oh my gosh, ya'll have been busy the last few days! Excelent songs, everyone! They all deserve more detailed praises, but I've kind of had very little sleep this weekend, and I don't think I'm up to the task at the moment...

In the mean time, what's the next theme?

I should have the song for y'all tomorrow probably. As for a new topic, how about....selflessness?

That's a good one. However I probably won't post another song for a while since I am bogged down by a medium case of busyness (not business). Will look forward to reading all y'all's songs!

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for on thoughts, but I just took that idea and ran with it.

time was standing stil
thoughts of why circling
you've broken my heart
now could you put it back, let it heal
CHORUS- you're gone away and all that's left
is racing through my mind
countless thoughts of you
and all I can't leave behind
V2- there are no words to say
all I still feel for you
trying to get on by
waiting for my beautiful day
Chorus
V3- You took my heart and all I could give
was laying in your hands
yours to cherish forever
till the moment it stops beating
Chorus

Hopefully y'all liked that.

Awesome song, Rachel.
I like how you've described the thoughts as 'circling' - it's really effective and conveys the idea well. The last line about until the heart stops beating is really striking, too. :)

Also a good song topic that you suggested earlier: 'Selflessness'. Does anyone want to try their hand at it? I'd like to see what you all come up with - it's been so excellent so far and I enjoy reading what you all write.

I'm working on chords for some lyrics I have:

Just a single move
only a tiny step
I could take you down
I could drive you back
but I wish you knew --
I just want to heal you.

I want to hold you close
when you are slipping away
keep you some place safe
'till there's a brighter day
and I wish you knew --
I just want to heal you.

When the night is cold
and the world is dark
I want to be the one
with who you'll share your heart
but I wish you knew --
oh, I hope you know...

(*then some chorus/ bridge I haven't got yet, or perhaps that should go between the verses*).

This was a song God used to help me not too long ago. I thought I was writing the song for someone else I knew who was in a very fragile and unstable place/condition, but then I realised that God was actually talking to me, too. So it is a special one, and I want to try and put it to chords that will match the melody :) .

Ok, so the next random song theme is currently 'selflessness' for everyone wanting to give it a go....

Very very good my C-dizzle! It has that nice Lifeshouse'ish sound that you like. If I can find time to write some stuff I'll post. It might be a while though...They're working me pretty hard here.

Um, this isn't really that much of a Christian song, but it amussed me once it was done. It's basicly just my recolections of the anime convention I was at this weekend (most of this stuff actually happened). I don't have any chords, but I sort of imagine it as a 50s doo-wop ballad, just cause it makes it that much sillier.

I’ve been standing in line for an hour
And my legs are starting to shake
I’ve got the urge to eat one more box of Pocky
But I’m not sure how much more my body can take
I haven’t slept in about twenty hours
And my costume is starting to stink
But complaining couldn’t be farther from my thoughts
Since I’m not quite awake enough to think

The fellow behind me dressed up as Miroku
Is looking for a Sango to chase
And the guy in front of me crept under a table to sleep
And an 8-foot-tall No Face just took his place
A whole crowd of ninjas just marched past us
Chanting their very own battle song
But I’m just straining to see where the line even ends
‘Cause I’ve been standing in it for way too long

I’ve got a bag of “Chicks Dig Giant Robotsâ€

Hi! Somehow I have never seen this thread before. Anyway, here is a praise song I wrote a while back. Try to imagine peppy, upbeat music.

The Lord is my shepherd but I go astray
He leads to green pastures but I go my own way
He comes to find me anyway, He comes to lift me up
He comes to find me anyway, He comes to lift me up

Chorus:
He lifts me
He fills me up with hope and peace where there was only pain
He gives me life abundantly and lifts me up again
When I fall down into the mud He comes to pull me out
When my life is confusion He erases all my doubt

I need the Lord's help in my walk everyday
So I get on my knees and he listens when I pray
He comes to help me when I pray, He comes to lift me up
He comes to help me when I pray, He comes to lift me up

Chorus

Bridge:
He's right beside me everyday,
He listens to me when I pray,
He helps me out in every way,
He comes to lift me up.
(Repeat)

Chorus
*insert poem, quote, or witty comment here*

"If it doesn't fit, you must edIT! -- [color=#cc3322]MOES."

A life of apathy.
Wallowing in misery.
No one there for sympathy.

Will anyone come visit me?
Will I bleed alone?
I never wished to be alone.
Yet I forced myself into this state.
How did this happen to me?

I'll take my emotions and light them up like flames.
I'll cry to you and scream your name.

Has all my life been pointless?
I always seem to miss.
How can I be content with this?
------------------------------------------------------------

Wow...It's been a long time. I kinda did this one the spot so...I like it though. The two lines right before the end are the chorus...I'm not all the way sure how the song'll be laid out.

Here's another song that I wrote.
--------------------------------------

I hope I could use this imagery
To pierce your mind
To let you see

All you know is what you've been told
By Godless fools
Fallen useless tools

Your mind's in captivity
Lies leaving you with nothing to breath
As your sinking beneath this sea
Never left with anything you need

Oh if you had eyes to see
God's glory
And what life can be.
---------------------------------------------

And that's it.

TEST OF TIME © <name removed for security reasons>

Coming forth from the shadows
The test of time now calls
“Can you withstand the trials of
The greatest test of all?â€
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

[Pink Floyd fan listening to Queen and hugging trees which is also known as taking care of God's creation with a pair of headphones on listening to Nightwish as loud as possible while writing a novel on a computer in the middle of a field filled with Wolves.]
