Suicidal mom

Postby Nu-En-Jin » Sat Jun 18, 2005 12:54 pm

I know how callous we can become when hearing pleas for prayer, especially in some forums, posted by anonymous strangers who's lives we'll never directly touch this side of eternity.
Beyond all that is you, whomever reads this, and me, right now.
I implore you to join me in prayer, type it out here if you want to, or offer it up to the throne right now.
My roomate's had a string of what some might call "bad luck". I just honestly think the devil's got it in for him and his family. His 18 month old nephew dies of a brain tumor, his wife divorces him, and now, his mother...
He just found out last thursday that his mom (who lives on the other side of the country from us) was engaged to be married. My roomate had never even heard mention of the guy to whom she was engaged. THe very next day, he got another call, this time to inform him that the guy his mom was going to married had just died of a heart attack.
One thing right after another. Now, he's finally secured a flight out to be with her, I just dropped him off at the airport this morning.
He just called me.
His mom hasn't eaten in a week, and has been drinking (as in alcohol) constantly. No food, lots of liquor... she even tried to step out into traffic a few days ago, apparently. Aunts and uncles are going nuts, trying to get her to stop. She's trying to end her life, folks, either drinking herself into the grave, or by some other means. Pray with me, please. Pray Jesus for her.

I'll pray for her and for her family right now. Keep us updated, if you can.

Yes.

People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

I shall pray as well.

But no matter what happens God still loves your friend's mother and He will always love her. She is someone special who God does care about. Horrible things like those can happen and sometimes we ask out “How could God let this happen? Is there no justice?â€
Live your life, love the Lord, and don't forget to laugh...

My goodness, that is truly heart-wrenching, Jin. I will certainly keep him and his family uplifted in prayer this week, and pray also that the Lord reveal Himself to them--that our mighty Jehovah Rapha, our divine Healer, would mend their broken hearts and offer them His blessed comfort. Please keep us updated, ok? And I mean it--your friend was just prayed for, and now he's on a post it note stuck to my wall so I will remember to keep praying.

Thank you all for the encouragement and prayers offered up for them.
He hasn't called me since Saturday, so I'm not certain what's up. Last time I spoke to him, he was so fired up, he was considering just rolling up into the bar his mom was perched at, and drag her out by force, if necessary.
I told him that complete strangers in various corners of the globe were praying for him and his mother. His response was something like "Complete strangers? We're all going to heaven together, anyway, so that's family."
He loves all of you who are praying for his mother.
I'll let you all know when I get an update from him. Still waiting at the moment.
Thanks again, and please continue with me in surrendering these lives up before the throne of grace.
