So it's like this: I finally get around to studying for my finals, and my little brother (age 6) PUKES ALL OVER HIS BED!! And of course niether of my parents are here, so yours truly gets to clean it up. *shudders* I mean, there were whole chunks of chicken on the floor!! *shudders again*

Any way, it just grossed me out; alot...

Ha ha! Welcome to the world of motherhood!

Remember this feeling, and thank your [future] wife everyday for taking care of your children.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

But seriously, incedents like this definitely make you appreciate your parents more.

Um, I'm a woman. I'm not giving you some "Woman should be in the kitchen working on getting dish soap hands" propaganda or anything. I was just saying that typically a woman whose occupation is motherhood (a.k.a she doesn't work, but rather spends the ENTIRITY of her day with her children) will be home all day, and, therefore, it's more likely that she might deal with that. I'm not saying dads can't, I'm just saying because stay at home moms are, um, at home when little Timmy comes down with a stomach bug and dad is at the office-- well, cleaning up gets done by mom. Generally.

Plus, my dad wouldn't have touch throw up with a 29 and a half foot pole.

After working Janitorial at the apartment complex and cleaning the women's bathroom every other day, vomit doesn't bother me that much anymore... I say the women's because the Men's bathroom never got messed up like the women's bathroom did... Of course, it's still gross... I don't even like getting wet (though I handle the watering in my job... *sigh*)

Dude I know exactly what ya mean. Whenever I clean the bathrooms at the vet the women's is always not quite as uh clean... But maybe it's because I work with 8 women and 1 guy. And I'd say like over half the people who come in are female.

I guess its one reason I don't ride the ambulance anymore. If someone up chucks in front of me now they would have to carry the patient and me out of the ambulance and hose out the back. I have come close a few times to doing it when I got older but never bothered me when I was younger. Started when I was 18 years old up to my mid 40s. I still do other things for the fire department which includes my needed training to be ready to help just don't throw up.

Ah, fellow custodians, eh? I could tell you some stories from the hospital, but I don't wanna cross any lines. Suffice to say, it's amazing how many old people can't grasp the concept of a catheter (not to mention how foul-mouthed they can actually be - I mean, little old ladies cursing like sailors, it's really funny). Actually, I very rarely run into anything really seriously disgusting (the nurses, God bless 'em, usually get the worst of it). The worst things I've seen in my just-over-a-year time of working there so far are:
A small bathroom virtually plastered with blood, mainly centralized around the commode
A similar situation but with loose BM in lieu of blood
A rather large puddle of fresh puke that I almost slipped on in the mens' staff lounge
My little sister was sick and vomited all over a hospital bed one time when I was seven or eight, and I said "eww". The nurse promptly got in my face and gave me such a tongue-lashing that I'll never forget it, nor will I ever make any such remark again. She made me feel horrible. -_-
