implement a picture approval

Postby Bobtheduck » Sun Nov 02, 2003 11:35 pm

After Boco T, I think you should make all picture and picture links submissions be moderated... It would slow things down, but I think most of us would not be bothered by the time it takes to get the pics up.

So no pics would show up until a mod approved it...

there is a major problem with this.. it's very hard to change things so that [img] tags are moderated. (requires some serious hackin)

seem as [img] tags are the main weapon of the troll, moderating attachments only would be a waste of time. however after the upgrade to RC/Final we may be able to set something up so that images can only be used after you get past a certain number of posts (eg. 30 posts)

That's a pretty nice idea :) Speaking of post counts, will there ever be any other recognition than "registered user" from day 1?

BOOSTER: Hey, No.1! Where's my cake?!
SNIFIT 1: Booster, Sir! There's a 70% chance the object you're standing on is a cake.
BOOSTER: What? THIS thing's a cake?

You have the power to say anything you want, so why not say something positive?

(in response to an interview question "Do you have a pet peeve having to do with this biz?")
People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I presume to JS's question, since this had been discussed somewhat at length previously.

Sorry... It was in response to:

will there ever be any other recognition than "registered user" from day 1?

I've seen at least 2 threads on it, as well as untold tangents on other threads about it. All the mods do is smirk and seem aloof. Hmm. What are they hiding...
