Fanime Con 2005

This is that time of year again for the Bay Area anime convention. Again, I'll be on the artist row with a bunch of friends gawking at cosplayers and hoping that there's less disturbing cosplay this year.

I hope I don't have to draw dozens of Sasuke sketches again either.

Worth noting is that UC is coming along! And that Issue #1 of Tic Tac Toe Joe is confirmed to be sold. It's going online soon after the con, so you guys can check that out later.

Any CAA-ers in the Bay Area try dropping by the artist row, it shouldn't be hard to find a table full of Asian girls and one guy with a beard :brow:

Report and photos after the con, naturally. ^^

That's pretty rad. If I lived in the Bay Area, I'd definitely stop by. I hope it goes very well and you don't have to draw lots of Sasukes or see disturbing cosplay. XD I've heard about some of the cosplay from friends that go to cons. If I was a comedian, cons would be like comedy gold.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

Con is done! Very tiring and somewhat amusing. Met up with oldphil (now gandalf) and talked about some really 'interesting' topics (I now know where you live! Haha!). XD Had a lot of fun, and UC had to mostly put up with Asian girls speaking in foreign languages and making a lot of noise. (so sorry, especially the last day where 2 certain girls became slightly 'drunk').

Can't really say much for UC, but I personally had fun. The cosplay show was entertaining when it wasn't being very disturbing (mostly the yaoi skits). And yes!! I drew less than 5 Sasuke's this year! Joy! XD

I'm infamous, am I?

That is probably true. This year there wasn't anyone truly horrendous, but a few stuck out in my mind:
1) A small girl cosplaying Auron. It... didn't work.
2) A guy wearing 6-8 forehead protectors. He must be a really good ninja.
3) Some person with a beer box over their head.

There had to be something very illegal about those sodas...

Oh, I had plenty of fun as well. If it is financially reasonable I'll do it again.

Yes, the Prince of Tennis skit was particularly disconcerting, though I was glad they at least went off stage (you'll note I think very little of the decency of humans as a whole). On a lighter note regarding Der Cosplay: "He lives in a pineapple under the sea!"

I'm not sure how many pictures there are. While I wasn't trying to avoid cameras, there may not be any pictures that include me.
